The Cure

seen them 3 times on the Wish tour - Barrowlands, Glasgow & 2 x Edinburgh Playhouse
but the Edinburgh ones were without Simon Gallup so it wasn't quite as good

also went to the Great Xpectations festival in London - cracking set that day, full of surprise tracks played
I saw them on different tours, though I forget now for which albums  Wish was one of them.

Simon Gallup was always a favorite (seeing as I used to play bass guitar and learned half his parts ). My favorite part of their concerts was always the song-ending jam between him and Robert on The Forest. 8)

a good track to get is the version of A Forest from the "Show" film VHS - it comes to almost 14 minutes!!!!

Havn't met him. I don't live there anymore, my dad has and said he was a grumpy bastard over something. But it's fairly well known in Bognor that he does live there not just a myth. Just googled it too and it comes up with it.

Pornography, the darkest of all Cure albums, was intended as a swansong. "My attitude was: it's all rubbish, we're rubbish, so let's go out with a bang," says Smith. "I wrote all the songs in a windmill over one weekend. We slept very little during the recording, there was a lot of drugs involved, and the stage shows that followed were just brawls between us and the audience. It's strange because that's not my nature at all, and it wasn't even fun. In fact it was really, really awful."
