Has anyone been to any of the nights at the cross in London? Im thinking of going for my birthday. Whats the difference in music / crowd etc betwen 'fiction' on fridays and 'serious' / 'renaissance' etc on Saturdays?
thanks

lol... this seems to be the monthly post about The Cross that always crops up.

Agreed with Stu. Great venue.. perhaps more suited for summer though. Still, it's not too cold yet.

Serious gets more trance heads in the Hard room, and its a bit glam in the Dusted arch sometimes.

Type and Renaissance gets a more "underground" crowd, if that makes sense, maybe a bit more trainspotty, but with a great atmosphere either way. Never had a bad night at any of their nights. My favourite has to be Type though

Renaissance is my favourite night at the cross, but if you go on any night it's likely to be very busy.

As the arches are all quite small it can get quite packed, but by 4/4.30 there's always plenty of room to dance.

Whens your birthday hun?

My fav night is serious but then i havent been to any other night there other than a sunday one...

:P

I think you can't go wrong with either night -- the Cross is my favourite club in London :D

Fiction is a gay / mixed night with deep / funky house and I always have a brilliant night there -- I find it to be a bit more relaxed / less crowded than Saturday nights.

October 2 sees X-Press 2 at the Cross which I think would swing it for me. ;) 8)

Just a quick one - i have always normally gone to either Reneisance or Serious ( Serious being my fav night out in london) but have some friends down Friday 1st... do you think Fiction will be a good night or do you think going to tunmills would be a better bet?

Fri 1st at the Gallery @ Turmills has Oakenfold, Hernan Cattaneo, Nic Fanciulli so something for everyone I guess. ;)

Thanks for that,

Its a tricky one though as I really want to show them the Cross as a Venue. What is the music like at the Fiction? is it uplifting at all? as i know they like that sort of music more?

Toughie -- I'm much prefer the Cross to Turnmills as a venue. Fiction tends to be deep/tribal or funky so I'm not sure that fits your mates uplifting bill? :?
