Currently hovering over my house in Abbots Langley (about 5mins from Leverstock Green, where the oil depot is):

I spoke to my mum last night and she said the windows on my house rattled, the earth tremored and her cup of tea spilt all over the table!

We even heard it as far away as Ealing... did anyone else hear the oil blast?

No, although I fell asleep with my tv on Saturday night and when I woke up I swore I had been hearing stuff on the news about an explosion and just thought id been having a weird dream. It made it even worse that my flat mate hadn't heard anything about it. I had to put sky news on just to reassure myself that I wasnt going mad!

I live in Leverstock Green, had to be evacuated! It was the loudest thing ive ever heard, undescribably loud! Nice to see Hemel getting its 5 minutes of fame, now its not only known for a funny roundabout!

After you'd gone last night Bec I checked my e-mail and my mum had sent me an e-mail checking I was ok and the explosion hadn't effected us(she said 'I saw on the news it was heard as far away as Richmond and Ealing, I hope you and Tom are ok'

Fortunately I could tell her that me, Tom and Peter have all survived the explosion

Im glad Peter's ok, he seemed quite scared when that explosion went off! I cant believe Tom was going to go upstairs and check if your neighbours were ok lol Apparantly it was heard as far away as France and Holland!!
