.........Right now, Tenaglia is working out the details of a Be Yourself retrospective mix CD set that would commemorate his New York residency. He’s also contemplating an offer from Simon Dunmore and the Defected crew to mix an entry in the label’s In the House series.........

Danny Tenaglia hasn't got anything to do with the Defected label, he's never ever played at one of their nights so what on earth is the connection between the two :roll:

Either a sell-out on the part of Mr Tenaglia or Defected trying to cash in again :roll:

I just think it's a shame that a once pretty decent label (remember the first DITH like JJ&Migs) has sold out.

have to disagree with you!

i like most of the ITH releases... ok maybe there's been too many in a short space of time, but all in all, cant really say there was one i didnt like.

I think its cus he's quite chummy with Mr Dunmore.

Some of them have been pretty good but some of them are bland funky house that goes in one ear straight out the other.

Definite Defected overkill tho 8O

define "funky House"... such a wide genre... one mans funky heaven is one mans funky nightmare and all that.

thats just it... i hate music genre's!!! you cant categorise what your ears like with words. thats stupid. thats like saying, i like orange juice, then that meaning that your gonna like every brand of orange juice...umm, i think... ok bad analogy. i dont know if i like funky house! thats why i only ever use really generic genre's like house.

im talking pish today. i gave up smoking this morning and its killing me :(:(

The issue that i would highlight is the use of a DJ not associated with the label to sell the CD

Ministry did that unless the recent Sessions albums

A mix CD from a club/label should be done by a representative of that club/label be it resident (1st choice) or frequent guest

Funky house to me = your same as same as Hed Kandi/Defected/Kinki Malinki etc etc shit. Music that doesn't go anywhere or do anything, music for beginners in fact :lol:

You remember Paul yeah? Well, he's got loads and loads of wicked 'funky house' tracks that are nothing like HK/Defected etc.
