Tell us how it was - Ibiza 2025

Oops, I forgot to brag. It only took me 18 years, but I have completed my tour of all 7 pirate watch towers!

nice collection!

I always love that viewpoint of PDB. I always think what that would have been like 100 years ago with no hotels there.

it's the one thing I always tell people when out hiking: I'd love to see how Ibiza looked 200-300 years ago. sometimes we walk through areas which now are forest, but which clearly used to be farmland a few centuries ago and so on. I'd LOVE to see how the island looked before the industrial revolution. I know the island was really poor then, but since I'm out in nature every day all year nowadays, I've gotten a keen interest to understand how it all looked back then.

Part 2
Mon 22nd: arrive
🎂Tues 23rd: kevin & perry at Amnesia
This was a cracking night. Arrived before doors open as wasn't going to stay late.
The club looked tidy and in order, I for some reason expected it to be a bit tatty with running cost issues I've heard about.

The outdoor smoking area is amazing. Last time I visited it was just fenced off carpark😄

Musically I actually enjoyed the warmup 1st act in main room. The rest was pretty good, although I hear later in the night it went a bit pap.

Met a guy also called Mark, and we had a blast. Proper good vibes. He does it as a pilgrimage to his best friend who both saw the film and said one day they will go to amnesia together. Sadly his friend died of cancer before they could 😞. Proper choked me up this did. But feel super happy that we met up so he didn't rave on his own. 🙏

By about 2am the crush got mental. Took a good 10 mins to reach the terrace toilets. A lass came out cubicle of mens with powder all over her nose. Security are like "your nose love", she was oblivious 😵‍💫. Ibiza at times cracks me up 🤣

At this point we went outside to meet up with some other people. - funny story, "where are you"
"Outside"
"WHERE???"
this goes on for about 10 mins until I decided to do a 360 video to locate us..... at which point we noticed the massive red phone box with "MEETING POINT" on it 🤣🤦‍♂️

I left around 2.30am as had cocoon later that day.

Wed 24th: 528 [cocoon]* - all areas open
I went to this more to see rest of 528 and how it compares to old zoo. Not a lot changed as far as I could see except pool no longer available.

Met stivi and el_loco briefly, which was good. Didn't manage to meet anyone else such is life 🤣

Musically it was a bit out on the edge of what I like (I'm more progressive, or even trance), but good to bop along to.

Around 10pm I pulled the rip cord as was tired from little sleep. (Hotel curtains are not blackout, so 8am full sun and awake).

Thur 25th: pacha [defected]
This was supposed to be a rest day but Jay from here convinced me to go 😗😗😗
We got there around 1am ish i think and had a look around the club. Showed Jay the garden, (which he couldn't find again after I had left).

Musically it was very different to what I had experienced the previous trip. A bit more African beats and underground I'd say. So didn't quite hit the spot, mainly cause my expectations where different.

We found a good spot, on the stairs to the left going up to what is the funky room. However it was all roped off for vip. But that area has toilets and a little bar, which made logistics easier.

Getting across the dance floor to the bars near the entrance was a bit of a mission at times.

Pacha is one of my fave clubs. But defo take ear protection as its proper loud.

People stood in dj area with heads 6" from the main speakers must be clinically deaf now!

The air conditioning also works well, one of the few clubs where you don't end up a complete sweaty mess 👏

Fri. 26th: children 80 HRH closing
I went on this mainly because its a 2 min walk from my hotel and 20e.

I was surprised at how much enjoyed it! People watching is amazing at this event. Was a bunch of Chinese grannies proper boping along to it all.

Unfortunately half way through it got proper rammed and nightmare crush at times. Apparently the queue to get in was massive.

I also noticed how much Spanish, esp the women smoke! As a non smoker you really notice it when 3 people right next to you are smoking. But i guess thats outdoor events for you!

I left around 10.30pm to go and get some sleep

Sat. 27th: Ushuaia [ants]
Wasn't planning on doing this either, but fellow solo traveller wanted to go, and i thought as nearby, why not.

Mistake was to get <6pm tickets, so we arrived around 5.30pm. ... this made it a loooong day to get to the 11pm finish 🤣 (see worst night below)

Sun. 28th: pikes [sundays] + Ushuaia [armin closing]*
Popped to pikes early on Sunday for a chill. Staff are good and ended up chatting to a group who where going to go to pacha for camelphat later in week, and I suggested keep in mind they 50e vip upgrade if gets too crushed, amongst the other random crap you talk about with new people 😬

I left around 6pm to get back to hotel for food, quick change then armin.

Having learned from ants not to go too early, I arrived around 8.30pm, when it was already dark.

I really got into the music as much more on my theme (see best night). There where about 4 other solos from group there, but we never managed to find each other. Guess they need a phone box too 🤣

Mon 29th: 😴 DC10 [circoloco]
This also was on a whim. I bought the ticket while boping to avb.
I met up with a crazy Australian, Dan (well originally from uk) guy and we went in taxi together. We also ended up meeting others from solo/WhatsApp groups and having a great time.

Well after 20 minutes of
"where are you?",
"the light tree".
"WHERE ARE YOU???".
"THE LIGHT TREE! I'M LITERALLY HUGGING IT!!!

After music stopped in garden I made my retreat. Mainly cause I can't hack late late nights much now. Esp sober, and inside is too much of a crush for me. But this turned out to be a genius move on my part.

The rest who stayed got flooded in and had to wait until the discobus made it through at 7am 🫠

Tues 30th: cova santa [piv closing]*
Storms moved this.
Oct
Wed 1st: cova santa [piv closing]*
This got moved due to weather so unfortunately I could only stay until 10pm as flight early next day.

Me and dan went together in taxi again and ended up meeting another bunch of random people who we had a great time with.

Musically was a little tepid imho, could have done with pushing the envelope a bit to keep it interesting.

Left 10pm which was a shame. Would have liked to done the inside club bit.

Great review, a real shame about the flooding though but at least you won't regret the birthday treat!

I think you can appreciate the vibe a little more with such a gap between trips, but if I compared it would be quite a stark change, vibes are much lower nowadays, but that's a multifaceted discussion in general and also societal influenced too. For some of the best vibes the ITE is definitely a good one, good time for people to appreciate what they have left of the summer and an older age bracket that remember the times(many before my time) that were even more hedonistic./friendly. The sunset I did at Mambo was one of the busiest I'd been to in years and the crowd remained a lot longer too, in recent years the pattern of people mingling on the rocks for 1-2 hours after sunset have gone but considering sunset was 7:45 and the 'main' act was 9pm it held strong until after 10. I met a nice girl down there and we were there until almost 11 I think, was nice to be there long enough to have a closer look at the DJ booth area as I never bother.

As for your comments about the phone booth, I've always known it was there and people have referenced the meeting point but each time I go I erase it, I was outside a good 10 minutes knowing exactly where you were stood but still couldn't find you until I saw you start filming 😂. It did prove to be a great meeting point as I've became good pals with the girl(and mates) that we met there, lucky timing. RE Pacha - Firstly it was always gonna end in me getting lost even though I know where I'm going, it's something that only ever happens in clubs when I walk off alone. I enjoyed Mk's set, but as you say, there was a little afro-house mixed in early(which I think I a littler over-excitedly told you is my running music so was therapeutic😂) and it was very underground until he pulled out a few of his older classics, very minimal of his recent stuff.

Nice that you managed to get in a little of everything in to your trip, some very wholesome parts compared to mine as we were chatting about what we were up to, quite the juxtaposition. Hopefully this summer has reignited the itch/scratch cycle and our paths will cross again!

Dates you were there:
Fri 19th Sept - Fri 3rd October

Where you stayed:
Sol Bahía Ibiza Suites - Stayed here before so knew what we were getting and the staff are great. We got talking to a couple who said the apartments are used to make adult movies and can confirm after a search on Pornhub, it’s pretty obvious they are. 😂

Club nights visited:
Pikes (Monday 22nd)
Kevin & Perry @ Amnesia
Shine @ 528
Godskitchen @ Amnesia

Best night:
Shine @ 528. Van Dyk outside was really good and even tho the inside was rammed and hot I still had a good time in there. Aly & Fila playing Galaxia was a highlight.

Pikes was good, seen a bit of Seb but it was too rammed and hot in the club so I chilled outside and got talking to a couple from Kent for a bit. We ended up going back in and the dj who was on after Seb was class. Gat Decor - Passion being the highlight.

Good sets from the holiday:
PVD @ Shine
Whoever followed Seb @ Pikes.
Tall Paul @ Godskitchen
Fergie @ Godskitchen

Worst night:
Kevin & Perry - seen mixed reviews across the board so it can’t have all been bad. Oakenfold was poor and it was way too busy. As much as I love that main room, it’s obvious the majority go for that line up so maybe consider swapping rooms to ease the crowding? Will I go again? Yes just because it’s at Amnesia, hope they go for someone like Ferry Corsten instead of Jules / Oakenfold next year.

Godskitchen - Music was great but I’m not a fan of the 1 hour sets. There also seemed to be quite a few dickheads in there who didn’t give a f*** about others. One fat c**t took great pleasure in steaming through people and laughing his head off whilst doing it.

Don’t mind some of the tunes being repeated but I’ll gladly take never hearing Yeke Yeke again 😂 must have been played twice at every night on my list.

Best bar:
Can’t remember the names to most of them.

Best place to eat:
Cala Gració was decent (Pomelo?)
Golden Buddha - never been that impressed before but enjoyed it this year.

Best beach and/or beach club:
Cala Gracio

Biggest regret:
A few of us became ill in the second week so all plans went out of the window but it can’t be helped. Finally feeling back to normal after a week.

Going back?:
12th - 19th May - first time going solo and the plan is to do no clubs or events. Hire a car and explore the island. Any recommendations on places to visit are welcome.

Observations and/or conclusion:
There’s still no place like it for me. Every year I keep reading various stuff that Ibiza has lost the magic and it isn’t the same, so you go expecting it to be different, but I haven’t noticed much change. If I was to go to the really popular parties then I may have a different opinion.

The clubbing is starting to become hard for me after 1/2 nights out. We are also finding it hard to get good clean pills over there. They f*** you up but you don’t get the “loved up / happy feeling” on them anymore. Last 2 visits we have used different people and all of us have said the same thing about them.

+1 on never hearing Yeke Yeke ever again. Not only did I hear it at least twice in every club I think I heard it about 4 times in bars too 😂

I was never that big a fan of it to start with but for some reason it seemed to the be the tune everyone was playing.

Tunes that get played on the same night again - you hear dj’s talk in interviews how they don’t plan their set and try and read the crowd - biggest load of shit ever spoken after that holiday 😂. They wouldn’t play the same song as the last person if that was the case?

Or the same set 2 nights running in some cases 😂

Dates you were there:
1-3 Oct

Where you stayed:
Mondrian Cala Llonga...we managed to get a good deal on a larger room with 3 sharing, worked out same per head as much cheaper alternatives. We wanted to be in Cala Llonga again as main purpose of the trip was Akasha. Hotel was nice enough, room was comfortable and pool nice with good ameneties. Cala Llonga is a lovely place - we explored outside the hotel a decent amount and found some nice bars with friendly locals.

Club nights visited:
Pacha on Weds night for Mau P
Akasha on the Thursday for Sven T.R.A.N.C.E closing.

Nights:
Mau P night...obviously really not my thing at all but there was little else on and one of our group was really keen to give it a go and we got the cheap drinks package etc. Crowd was ok, phones out in force and most seemed relatively sober...music just didn't appeal to me but I was keen to see Pacha again after a long absence.

Sven @ Akasha..this was the main event for me and it really delivered again. The garden was great, really busy with very mixed crowd of many nationalities and ages - all very friendly. Music was great both outside and in...I didn't hear too many of the old, tired classics that he likes to drop and the music for me was superb throughout. We got there around 8pm and left around 4...I heard it went til 6 so we probably missed a great couple of hours at the end but we still left very happy!

Best place to eat:
We had two great meals out - I finally made it to Cami de Balafia on the Wednesday night after all these years..one of the best ibiza restaurants I've been to - lovely outdoor terrace, friendly service and the quality of food and value is unmatched. On Friday we had lunch at Chiringuito Pou d'es LLeo...second visit here at this time of year and again it was superb and great value - lovely setting as well. I had a special which was like an octopus stew with pancetta and I inhaled the whole thing. Well worth a visit.

Best beach and/or beach club:
Didn't really have time to fit this in...

Money spent:
Probs around £1000 all in

Biggest regret:
Not staying longer!

Going back?:
Always...at the very least will be back for the same again next year

Top tip:
Head to the north/east for a bit of an explore..

Observations and/or conclusion:
I came back a very happy man again...fantastic couple of days with good friends and places like Akasha, Cami de balafia and pou d'es lleo really restore faith in the true ibiza!

Ive now put the Chiringuito on my list, hope it's open next week.

Dates you were there:
27th Sept - 4th Oct

Where you stayed:
Hotel Abrat in San Antonio - a bit of a usual spot for us. We find it a good base for what we like with really nice rooms and a good pool/garden area

Breakfast leaves a little to be desired but it's fine

Club nights visited:
Godskitchen @ Amnesia
Camelphat @ Pacha
Faithless DJ Set @ Pikes

Best night:
Loved them all in different ways to be honest. Wish that Amnesia wasn't the day we landed in all honesty as was knackered pretty early on.

Camelphat were a lot better than expected and to be honest didn't expect it to happen as it was day after the flooding

But big parties elsewhere and the flood meant there was good space to dance and the drinks package was a brilliant addition and the free shuttle made it easy to get there and back in chaotic travel times

Faithless at Pikes felt like a good Pikes experience even though she was on pretty early. Freddies was heeving.

Worst night:
Not their fault by any means but I was really looking forward to Kerri Chandler, but Chinois was closed due to flood damage. Considered Sugar Hill Gang at Rocks on the Friday but decided against it

Best bar:
Old but gold, it's got to be Flahertys

We also love Bamboo near the hotel, we went to their closing and they're always a really friendly place

Wanted to get over to Can Jordi Blues on the Thursday but with the uncertainty on what we were doing that night it ended up not happening.

Best place to eat:
We didn't eat out as much as usual, weren't actually that hungry this trip. Few nice spots though:

Es Mirai near Calo Des Moro does really nice breakfast and great pizzas in an evening. Not badly priced either

Baby Buffalina in San Antonio great for pizza by the huge slice or their full pizzas are also really nice. lovely guy that runs it too, very friendly

Melbourne Street Coffee - again a breakfast spot, the wife ordered an xl Coffee and it was literally served in a cereal bowl. The food is genuinely nice though

Johnnys Bar in the Bay is my favourite spot for burgers. The Si Senor is my personal recommendation

Es Clot really friendly staff, but the food was just ok on this occasion. We had tapas and the octopus was a bit of a let down has to be said

Best beach and/or beach club:
Cala Gracio has a special place for us, usially for sunset rather than in the day though

Money spent
:
Less than before, but still more than anywhere else 😂

Biggest regret:
We've got a lot going on with family at home, so there was a few sad days and early nights where we didn't get up to as much as we'd want, and I always regret not doing as much as I can when I go

Going back?:
I'd go back tomorrow if I could. Something about the island just relaxes me, don't get that feeling anywhere else and I'll always chase that.

Top tip:
You're only there for a small percentage of your year. Drag yourself out and explore and enjoy it while you're there

The drinks packages are well worth it, the free shuttles too

What wasnt as worth it was Amnesia balcony ticket. If you want to watch something in the main room its largely pointless as youre behind a lot of VIP, and i thought it was a bit of a rip off that drinks on the balcony were more expensive than downstairs, despite the fact you pay more to be up there. No major issue though

Observations and/or conclusion:
I feel a bit older every time and a bit sadder that some things aren't what they were, or how the young uns are 'doing it wrong' but then the next night you're there alongside them enjoying it anyway

While I'm still spotting people older than me who probably think I'm a young un doing it all wrong, I'll always come back

Trip One - 2025

Dates you were there:
10th - 11th May - surgical trip

Where you stayed:
Sal Rossa - cheap and cheerful

Club nights visited:
Amnesia Opening Party

Best night:
As above

Worst night:
As above

Best bar:
No bars

Best place to eat:
Ciao Pizza on Bossa - good quality and value or sunset rather than in the day though

Money spent
:

Biggest regret:
None

Going back?:
Did

Top tip:
Opening did not require VIP or balcony ticket - don't think you will ever need this again with UNVRS in the picture

Observations and/or conclusion:
Great little trip to join the Mrs and her girls for just 24 hours. Make friends, you never know what might happen

Trip Two- 2025

Dates you were there:
23rd Aug to 3rd Sep - friend's wedding, went with family

Where you stayed:
Migjorn on Bossa - this hotel has been our go to for years. However, having stayed at Sal Rossa, and the main reason for staying here being location, it's hard to justify their prices, especially in August. They charge full price for older kids making it quit expensive

Club nights visited:
Anyma - UNVRS - horrid. Crowd, music, grim - production technically amazing
Hi -Miss Monique / Franky Wah - great, tons of space to dance now that UNVRS is in the picture
Carl Cox / Chemical Bros - UNVRS - not bad, mainly due to having multiple wristbands allowing exploration of lots of areas which added interest / vibes - less busy than Anyma so main room was bearable
Playa Soleil - All I need - amazing vibe, people, and music. Drinks exorbitant

Best night:
Playa Soleil

Worst night:
Anyma at UNVRS

Best bar:
No bars

Best place to eat:
La Gaia - did a la carte this time. Everything was perfect, service, food, the new refurb. This remains the best place to eat on the island, although prices have gone up

Money spent
:
Our most expensive trip ever - got rinsed at every turn. Will never go in August again.

Biggest regret:
Going in August.
Also, renting a car was not worth it this time - the cost, difficulty parking, and the fact that we didn't actually use it much made it a waste of money

Going back?:
Did

Top tip:
Do not go in August
Do not go to UNVRS

Observations and/or conclusion:
This trip was a bit flat and left us wondering if we were going to go back

Trip Three- 2025

Dates you were there:
4th to 8th Oct - joining family and friends

Where you stayed:
Sal Rossa - cheap and cheerful
Oku - mind blowing experience (third time there, by far the best)

Club nights visited:
Ants - Ushuia - probably our favourite Ants event ever. Music great, tons of space
Black Coffee at Hi - we didn't get guestlist for Elrow closing and refused to pay nearly 200 Euros. Got offered guestlist / bands to Black Coffee closing, not really my music, popped over and had a great time.
Playa Soleil closing - amazing people, music, and vibe.
Solomun closing - went to this at 5. Mind blowing - very busy, but probably the best I've heard him play in some time. So glad we went
DC10 Circoloco- rubbish. Awful music, people, and vibe. Complete opposite to the previous time we went, when it was amazing. Glad to see they are exercising some form of crow control for the terrace though (Adam Port) - meant enough space to dance. No phone policy is great

Best night:
Playa Soleil / Solomun

Worst night:
DC10

Best bar:
No bars

Best place to eat:
Teyo at Oku - very good

Money spent
:
Got good value this trip by booking last minute - managed to get between two storms
Guestlist, wristbands, upgrades at hotels etc helped to keep the cost down, as did drinks packages

Biggest regret:
Going to DC10 - it was that or Camelphat closing. Camelphat looked better

Going back?:
Yes

Top tip:
October is a risky time to go weather wise - we had friends that went before and after us, and had / are having rubbish weather

Observations and/or conclusion:
Didn't rent a car this time - did not miss it

Dates you were there: 24.9. - 6.10.

Where you stayed: Apartamentos Kiki and Hyde Ibiza

Club nights visited: Cocoon at 528, Music on, Circoloco, Väth at Akasha, Pyramid Closing

Best night: Cocoon 528

Worst night:
I could probably rank the parties, but I had no bad night.

Best bar: Cala Escondida probably, not a big bar drinker. I spend enough money on drinks in clubs

Best place to eat: See restaurant thread. Favourite this time probably Altravia Cala Llonga

Best beach and/or beach club: Sa Trinxa, although it is a shadow of its former self. Can't agree that the vibe is still there even without DJs. It was heartbreaking to see really :/

Money spent: Very reasonable for restaurants and accomodation, way too much for clubs. Entry prices are at an all time high in my 20 year history.

Biggest regret: Kinda regret not doing the Bedouin closing as I wanted to be fresh for Circoloco. But as I spent 10 hours at DC10 it was probably worth it :D

Going back?: hell yeah

Top tip:
Nothing new for forum readers but Pachas drink package is fantastic. And: Go hiking, guys!

Observations and/or conclusion: 12 days, 5 intense and very long party nights and not one euro spent at TNL venues or Mambo Group. True spirit of Ibiza is alive and well, just not where insta tells you.
