Ok, Le Freak Orange has booked his villa in Talamanca - is it an area where you will need a car to get around - I dont think you do from my memories of the place? But my memory is shagged so I may be wrong - :oops::oops::oops: thoughts???
 
Nope, it's only about 10-15 minutes walk to Ibiza Town, depending on which end you're at. Lovely part of Ibiza.

Obviously, I'd recommend people hiring a car anyway for at least some point!
 
It really depends on which part of Talamanca.

If it's one the side of Talamanca bay nearest Marina Botafoch (like around El Corso hotel and that neighborhood), then no. There's a boat that goes across to Ibiza Town. Or it's about a 30 minute walk from there to the beginning of the port area (Pacha shop, etc.).

But if he's around towards the main town of Talamanca, down the Sa Punta end, or in the hills above the town, then I'd definitely get a car. It's not walking distance.

most villas are likely to be towards the area where it gets hilly, on which basis a car is needed really.

it could be walkable to talamanca (within 10 mins) but then it'd be another 20 at least to ibiza town.
 
Pups - we always hire a car. They're pretty cheap if you get a basic model and by the time you've factored in the cost of taxis to and from the airport the car has practically paid for itself and you have the option to use it as and when during the day 8)
 
I'm looking for a villa for 09 (with the little one) there's 8 of us. I was looking to find a villa somewhere where a car wouldn't be needed.

Is this a hopeless quest? i think the roads are mental in Ibiza!

That's what I was just telling her in PM.

Even if you book your car as late as April or May, it's still around 20-25 euros/day for a 4-door with a/c. Worth it no matter what.
 
We always have a car and ours is booked - and I think Gingerfreak will end up having a car for 2 weeks to be honest - but I thought I would pose the question as to where it was completely necessary not having stayed in the Talamanca area myself - anyway he's going to need one to come over and visit us as we are in Port Des Torrent :lol::lol::lol::lol:

There are some really nice places in Talamanca that fit up to 10 or so - not technically villas but huuugge fancy apartments - I'll send you the links if you want.
