Strange phrases .......

There's a few common ones about;

You'll laugh on the other side of your face,
Pulling a face - If the wind blows, you'll stop like that,

Weirdest one my mum says;
"Oh run-a-per-shutter" - means you're joking/kidding. God knows how that one originated.

Come on then, there must be loads of nonesense phrases you've heard.

Hmm .. my Dad never swore .. he considered it highly unintelligent .. however, when I had done something particularly stupid, he used to call me a Jessie !

My nanna had a whole host of stock phrases which made no sense....

Two that spring to mind about people who thought they were better than they were are:-

"Oooh she thinks she's the bee's knees that one...."

or

"Where do you think you are... your Grannies yacht??"
