Steve Lawler on VIVA at Space nights

Outside on the terrace I’m going to have guests like Alex Neri and Tiefshwarz and Tiga. Also there some guys called Audio Fly, who are two Italian guys living in England that I’ve signed to my label Harlem Records. I’m going to get them to be warm up residents on the terrace. Also I’ve got another Italian dj called Remo who’s a resident of Pervert Gold in Rome to be a warm up resident as well.

Sasha’s going to do his own thing in the main room. I really wanted him to do this because when he plays at Space he gets a better response than anywhere else. And I think he plays better and I think people who like what Sasha does would agree with that. There’s going to be nine parties, and I think six or seven of them Sasha’s going to be doing.

I am so gutted I'll be missing this!! I was really looking forward to see Lawler & Sasha in Ibiza...oh well, maybe they'll be playing somewhere during my trip.

:D It's amazing that Steve Lawler is gonna bringing Remo on Space...He is resident at Pervert Gold in Milan (not in Rome) and he's one of the most talented dj in Italy...I'm really looking forward to hear him!
I think that this night will be the bomb of Ibiza 2005! ;)

What kind of music does Steve Lawler play??
house music, he was well known for a tribal sound, but now plays what you could call "dirty" house on the whole. he tends to pick the best bits from anything though, disco, electro, prog.

Maybe someone could reccommend a good Lawler CD? I have the Lights Out one... sorry but BORING. The whole CD sounds like nearly the same song to me. Maybe he is just not my style or something.

his sound now is totally different from the tribal sound of LO1.
He's now similar to guys like King Unique, big room electronic house.

Check his recent releases and remixes on Harlem, Subversive & Positiva.

still annoyed this wont be open the WLS opening week.. Altho if it was I'd have to choose between DeepDish and this night 8O

if I can manage to work some magic and get back to ibiza I'll try and get there for the closing of this on the 15th..

Sasha & Lawler, still can't get my head around it

As Stu said - Lawler changed his style ever since the Lights Out compilations.

Plus he was always known to play a bit different at Space than his usual style :)

I'm going to Ibiza for the first time on the 25th August for 5 nights.

Can anyone recommend whether to see PVD at Cream or Lawler at Space. I'm planning on going to WLS but I think that Cream will be the only chance I get to go to Amnesia. If Sasha is playing then that would make my mind up. Is there any way of finding out which of the nine parties Sasha will be at?

Can anyone also recommend whether to go to Manumission or Cocoon on the Monday?

Thanks for any help!

some people love Manumission so I wont comment on that cos I have not been enough. However, Cocoon has become another reason why I go to Ibiza. The main room is constantly going off, the music is uplifting, powerful house and techno.. Room 2 is more electronic house to deep house (from what I remember)

Buy Sven vaith Cocoon the 5th season, with that you get a free DVD of cocoon last year so you can see what you'll be getting

Thanks very much for the advice.

Its a shame not being able to do both as I've heard lots of great things about Cocoon. I just think that for my first and possibly only visit, it might be mistake not to 'experience' Manumission first hand.

I guess I'll just have see what happens when I get out there...

rich m,

i think you have hit the nail on the head. you have to see manumission - it is quite unique in the world. this year they've got some wicked bands lined up too.

as for cream vs. lawler @ space.... no contest... space wins hands down ;)
