In the past few years Bora Bora has just been heaven for me.

A place I dream about when I'm at work and just makes a smile explode across my face each time I walk in when I'm in Ibiza.

However, I paid two visit last week and just didn't feel the vibe

More than anything else from this post I'm hoping you are going to tell me I was just unlucky with the times I picked to go and the place is still going off just as superbly as ever.

It seemed that Bora Bora was a little subdued when I went - about 10:30 each night , could not catch an afternoon session this time.

There were a reasonable number of people dancing but the majority appeared not to be really INTO the music or were just stood about.

Worse still, there were TONS of total tossers more interested in preening themselves and getting pics of ladies in revealing poses.

The main culprits seemed to be American lads but thats just an observation made on those specific visits.

Bora Bora is NOT a spectator sport - DANCE for Gods sake, get into it. Make the place rock.

If you want to just ogle lasses, buy a mag, a pack of tissues and go to your room

Please tell me I'm just being daft

PS - just to show I haven't turned into a miserable old got Space was just as if not more BRILLIANT than ever

Ermm . . . I think it was a Wednesday and a Thursday.

Admittedly , the Thursday night was the better of the two.

We went a few times the week we were there for We Love Opening and it was going off from late afternoon til midnight and then continued inside. Definitely didn't notice a change in atmosphere etc

not sure that 10:30 at night is ever really hopping at Bora Bora? Certainly never like 3-4 PM and on. Correct me please if I am wrong. By 10:30 I have usually gone home, grabbed a bite and relaxed a lil before the insuing mayhem at the clubs that evening

For the Space Opening weekend it was going off everyday from about 6 till the last tune was played at 12.

I think you might have been unlucky

No I've always found it gets busier as the evening wears on, I've been at Bora Bora at that time when it's been so busy people have had to overflow onto the beach cos there just wasn't enough room to dance.

I often use Bora Bora as a pre-clubbing bar as well, go for a few wines about 10pm and have a little boogie before heading off clubbing, it puts me much more in the mood for it than the official pre-parties.

When I stay in Jet we used to pop out to Bora Bora for the last hour or so (10:30 onwards) and it was always mental.

I shall return with an open mind in August and give it another try.

Still not a bad ratio :-

I don't think its the excitable little characters fault at all.

Its just that they seem to get totally disproportionately excited at the thought of a semi naked lady and take up position with a poised mobile for the rest of the evening in the hope of catching sight of a well turned ankle . . .

Is does look like I was just unlucky on my visits.

I guess in a lot of ways thats great news as I absolutely adore Bora Bora and would hate to think it was slipping in any way.

Terrier - go on Sunday. It's proper Bora Bora in the evening. During the week, stick to the late afternoon/early evening session. Bora rules, lest we forget.
