Special Effects contact lenses... anyone know about 'em?

So, I finally decided what I want to be for Halloween... a dark angel :P

Since Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday, I of course have to go all out. Has anyone ever worn special effects contacts? What are they like... very uncomfortable?? I wear contacts all the time for vision correction, but I'm a little scared off from buying the crazy lenses online... there's all these disclaimers and things to sign before purchasing on a lot of the sites. Wondering if this is just protection for the lense company... as in, if something goes wrong, they're absolved from fault.

I want the white ones below... they make your eye color a very, very light blue... very spooky and Marilyn Manson-esque. Add some sweet black makeup and WOW, I'll be scared to look in the mirror!! Thoughts?? I ain't about to damage my eyeballs for one night of devilish fun.

I heard they only damage eyes cos they're used by people who don't know how to use contacts so don't clean them properly and end up getting eyeball eating bacteria stuck behind them or something....

If you get them from a normal opticions (sp?) they should be fine, a lot of them are just made by the big contact lense makers anyway as a side line, so they shouldn't be any worse for you than normal ones.

I've worn the ones that make your eyes blue and they do feel a bit different to normal lenses, but I think that's because they have a thin layer on them. I got used to them within about 5 minutes when I wore them though.

Thats what I was thinking too. I have been using contacts for about 2 years now, so I know whats up :P I think I'll bring my case and solution along in my dark angel purse... just in case.

I'm not even sure if I can still get them in time for Halloween, I hope so :?
