I just don't get this right.....since the age of about 11, everytime I've been to a restaurant in UK or abroad, there has always been someone (a family member, firend, g/f,etc) who drinks sparkling water.

but since the age of 11 i have tasted it every time and just do not understand what the purpose of it is........i mean its so inferior to agau sin gas that its just unbelievable

i thought it might be like an acquired taste or somethin that over the years i'd grow to appreciate, like black olives and a good chianti, but no..........i still think its disgusting and just don't see the point of it.

Am i on my own on this one?? :? :? :?

Completely agree.

Especially with the "I just don't get it"-ness of it all. It's frikkin rank, yet millions love the stuff.

Bizarre

(Although I also file red wine and cheese under the same heading, though I'll concede I simply don;t like them)

i know its "one man's meat is another man's poison" but sparkling water is just to far.

x - can't believe u don't like cheese 8O

B - i think i have overcome my fear of owls, due to a persistent spotlight barrage of 2D pics of owls :) :) :)

I don't mind it, although 99.9% of the time I'll go for still water.

I always find that different sparkling waters taste different depending on the fizziness of them and other stuff, some are definitely better than others

overall it's a funny drink really, not really nice enough at all but not absolutely awful, just, funny. :?

My reverse psychology has worked then! Address for the invoice please

Dan - cheese is amazing. Goats cheese in particular....

I love agua con gas. I drink barrels of the stuff over a season.

I find it very thirst quenching. Tho one time I drank some that had gone flat and was amazed at how salty it was.

It made me wonder that perhaps agua con gas might actually be carbonated tap water.

8O

I don't usually drink it, but sometimes I die for it, it's allways available at home so I go and drink a hole bottle and don't need to drink it till a weeks time.

Sparkling water, agua con gas.

It's fizzy water and is pointless in my opinion. I used to live beside a factory called 'Strathmore Springs'. They used to make loads of fizzy juice and leave some of it out in the bay, which was then stolen at nightime by all the kids. (Was seen as a rights of passage to jump the fence and nick a crate of Fizzy Orange etc) However, in the late 80's the fad for drinking water swept the nation. (There's a good one, selling water to Scots people. Bit like ice to eskimos) All of a sudden fizzy water was you're reward for completing your pre-pubescent task.

Fizzy pish mare like!

another essential ingredient in the "male only spotlight recipe guide"

I always go for fizzy water with food, but would never grab a glass of it in the day like I do still water. I bet your all happy to hear that Sandi fact.

I like the fizzy water. Didn't like it when I lived in the States, but acquired a taste as I grew older.

I agree with Dr Mick. More thirst quenching.
