SPACE - over rated

i went to in bed and people were shouting at john ulysses to turn it up. not only that, half the speakers kept cutting in and out...

The Terrace system was better this year than last but the indoor system this year was no where near as good as last year! :(

I thought that as Space were buying their own Funktion One system (last years rented by we love) it would be amazing as they are minted and could easily afford the best Dance Stack Ultras (best off the shelf club sound system in the world) but......

They bought a much more budget one that was technically inferior to the one that was used last year

BIG CLUBS RIPPING PEOPLE OFF AGAIN!!!! TIGHT GITS!!!

Space is the best club i've been to.

Atmosphere is unreal and the music usually the best on the island.

due to my eating routine (for my diabetes) i tend to go for the last few hours of the terrace and some inside action too

Steve Lawlers closing terrace sets are amazing!

I didnt know you were diabtetic?! So am I!

I've never done space so i've not had any experience with it!

(last time i spoke to you my username was jamiedunn...incase your wondering who i am hehe you sent me a cd months ago!!)

yeah it was F1 inside but not as good as what they had last year :(

Neighbourhood in London have a Funktion 1 system and people always rave about it. Personally, I'm not blown away by the sound in there, but then again my hearing has gone to pieces!

Well Carl Cox sounded far better inside than for the previous two years. The bass went right through me.

The sounds was defo better this year. I stood next to the speakers on the terrace and my ears hurt, and that's never happened!

I was pretty pleased with the music this year, but then I had Danny Rampling, Jon Ulysees, Pete Gooding, Groove Armada (who weren't bad this year) and of course Lawler 8)

The atmosphere is still amazing. There is still nothing like it I've ever been to, something about dancing in the middle of the afternoon with a bunch of mates, in the warmth, then sunshine with a vodka limon in your hand. Even fesitvals dont' come close. I think its a mixture of lots of things, esp the fact the crowd isn't exclusively english. Much less attitude and everyone's there for the same reason.

I'm also loving the roof terrace, its' the one thing the club was missing really. Some of my mates spent all the afternoon there!

I don't really get into the discoteka. I've been there for other nights and stayed inside, but after 7 or 8 hours on the terrace nothing else really comes close (except Circo Loco) and I can't get up for it at all..... I think I stayed til about 4 once as Sasha was on, but it he was disappointing....

Personal pref I guess.... not sure what the roof will do next year for the sound (better hopefully) and the atmosphere (not sure...)

It is my firm belief that Space Terrace and BoraBora are the two unique experiences in the whole clubbing scene in Ibiza.

Every night that I went out clubbing, I used to compare with what I can get back home, and only Space and BoraBora stood out as the two that I could not get at home.

my thoughts exactly 8)
I SO AGREE

My first time in Ibiza last week - arrived on the Monday so I missed out on 'We Love...' but my mates were very disappointed with it. Apparently Sasha and Zabiela's sets weren't up to much and there were far too many posers on the terrace.

I did, however, catch Carl Cox's closing party and it blew me away. The lighting and sound systems were incredible. And the atmosphere was buzzing. Cox played a thumping set (as well as Christian Varela) and I didn't want to leave.

Next year, I'll do the whole Sunday thing. I'll reserve judgment till then.

I was at Space all day and night last Sunday (12th), and have to say it was the best day of my life by a long shot.

The atmosphere was superb, and as Clara said, exactly how all clubs should be. I have never come across a better more up for it crowd. Everyone was loving the music, and the tune selections were superb.

The system inside was a F1, and was the best sound I have ever heard...it was crystal clear and went right through you :P The sound outside was very good to, but not quite as good as inside (prob due to noise restrictions).

FACT: On a Sunday afternoon, as a great tune is played and a plane flies over, there is no better place on earth :D

Was at space on the 14th (cox), 16th (la troya carry on) and 19th (we love... sundays). overrated you say?

...

MY ASS!

I had the time of my life each and every party i've mentioned above  :)

I went to We love with groove armada and felix. I fell in love with space. The crowd was wierd and a bit dramatic. But u have to appriciate when people act the part. That is what ibiza and space is all about, doing and acting exactly how you want without worrying about some bloke shooting you down. Space is special, and anyone who thinks not is probably jaded with the whole island. Space is evil...

Space is the devil on your other shoulder...Any female that is a virgin looses her virginity the second she walks through the door.

I also went to the carl cox closing party. It was nuts when they pulled the sheet over the crowd. I like when everyone is on the terrace and you go into the main room. There is lots of room to dance and the real dancers are out getting hypnotized early. And IMO the sound was bad ass, and so was that floating cube thing and the free x boxes... Space will be in my heart and balls forever now 8)

So as a man I have nothing to search fore then?
Typically Ibiza. Witch power.

space and me

2002 - first visit. David Morales was attempting to DJ while so pissed he could barely stand. Sound quality wasn't the best. Seemed full of posers, but the atmosphere when a plane went over was certainly impressive. Overall, I went home disappointed.

2003 - Tom Novy, who I don't really rate, played the terrace and despte that I suddenly realised what everyone was talking about. Walk in one year with high hopes - come away disappointed. A year later, walk in feeling sceptical, go home with a new favourite club. I still didn't quite 'get' the discoteca, though, until...

2004 - Lawler, Howells and Zabiela. Much louder sound on the terrace. Incredible music and atmosphere. When the terrace closed we hung about inside to play the X boxes before going back to the apartment - as we played we gradually came to realise the dance floor was going madder than the people in 28 Days Later! Ended up staying most of the night going equally mad. The new sound system is unbelievable, they have one in Lush! but the club is too small for it and you just come out with sore ears - in Space the volume is loud but not deafening and the quality absolutely crystal clear. Best clubbing experience of my life, until the next day when I discovered the joys of DC10...

I think that was the same weekend that i heard morales at pacha the night before, he was fu(ked out his mind and other dj's had to keep dragging him off the decks
