Space Opening Party

Hi all

I am a newbie to Ibiza and looking forward to my first trip on Sunday 29 May. Unfortunatly we arrive into Playa De Bossa at 19.30 on the 29th and have to get to our hotel in San Antonio Bay - check in and get back to Playa De Bossa for SPACE opening party. Our tickets allow us to get in until 10pm. Is this do-able.. from what I can see on google maps this should be fine but are we likely to hit massive queues?

Also can we expect a great night still.. will the party still be in full swing at this time as I am told this is an all day event so many will have been there since 8am ??! :lol: we had hoped when we booked the flights the party would begin at 10pm Sun and go through until mid Monday.. but i am sure the club wont shut before sun comes up am i right?!

Also whats the opening party atmosphere like and what should i wear - :roll: sorry typical girly question!!!? heehee i have looked back through the forums and most say jeans and top but that was back in 2007... any great advice for me girlies?! :-)

When you come out of the airport in Ibiza you should be able to get a taxi fairly quick from the taxi rank right outside.
It will probably take you 30 minutes to get to San Antonio and then another 30 minutes back to Playa D'en Bossa.
 
Personally, myself im gona be busting out the shorts, flip flops n casual vest - oh and not to forget the across the shoulder bag so i can proper rave it up 8)

Im a tart through and through, wont deny that :lol: but i know when it comes to Ibiza it isnt about fancy clothes etc 8)
 
haha i like your style vik-zee.. from what i can see most girls wear something casual on bottom and dressyish top on top.. hey im just gonna go and enjoy and dance my socks off but thought i should ask :D DJ dave thanks for the info and links, they only seem to take pics of the "beautiful people" HEHE

can we still expect a great banging time even at 9.30ish arrival? We were told things dont start until 1ish in ibiza,,

Definitely flip flops!! For all those hours you will be on your feet ;)
 
the years i have been there on opening night its busy.around 10pm but now with new opening times you should be ok.and just make it in time.put your club clothes on to of you case ready.quick wash up and go.your going to be just short of spending 100 euro;s getting to hotel and back to pdb then back to san an.

Thanks all for your advice.. we were quoted 25 euros from the airport to Hotel Bergatin in San An, and we assume it be the same back to Playa de bossa. So between 6 of us thats not bad?! I assume they have 6 seaters in ibiza? 8O

We plan to do our crazy hair and face painting on the plane and have a quick check in, dump bags, changed and out.

So if we land at 19.00 and it takes 30mins to get there, 30 mins to check in, 30 mins to get ready and GUZZLE the drink, and 30 mins to get back to playa de bossa that means we get there for 9.00ish?! hopefully...

Looking forward to space it looks completely mad..

Is the outdoor bit ever pumping during the day? Would consider going early, enjoying outside in the sun and then leaving quite early so I can have a massive one at DC-10.
 
we cant get there early.. the flights were a grand to land earlier so 7pm on Sunday 29th best we can do...
 
A couple of points, Space opens at 16:30 on this day.
Most of the taxis carry four passengers,I really don't know if you have to pre-book anything larger.
Will you have checked in bags to wait for? Also a possible wait for the taxi...

Theres 6 of us girls going and i presumed there would be 6 seaters but in my thread someone said 2 cabs :? dont know how true that is though...
 
If you're ordering a 6 seater it might be worth asking the hotel to book you one while you're checking in.

Buy some booze in the duty free at the airport on the way out and drink it in the taxi on the way to the hotel and then on the way to Space ;)
It's cheaper to buy alcohol in the supermarkets over there but you probably won't have time to get any.

I'm not sure when Space gets busy for the opening party as I've only ever been during the season.
 
thanks all..great advice.. when i came into the site today i had an email from ibiza cabs? They were saying to book via them for cabs so i have asked for a 6 seater and will report back. Obviously it better if 6 seater as dont have to split up that way and keeps costs down but wait and see.. Yeah we were going to ask the hotel to do this whilst checking in..

I been trying to calculate how long everything will take and hope we will get there in time but we will have been travelling and drinking since 10am on the Sunday so will def need to shower and some girls take a while :roll: .. Hopefully there is no queues and we get through and get bags and offski..

so its def 40 mins from airport to Bergatin then?

Im not fancing flip flops actually.. dont people stand on your toes and glass gets in them..

aw right thanks for that i thought it started in the morning... i am full of misinformations... thanks all.

I remember my 2nd trip with my mate, I had some nice ones from New Look that had a strap round the ankle, she stepped on the sole of them where she was hammered and broke them! I was gutted, was like the first night! But I agree yeah, once you get someone stand on the back of them youve pretty much lost them :lol:

Have to agree with the comment below though, people standing on your feet is not nice, that happened to me as well, someone with very pointy high heels accidentally trod on my foot - not good! Maybe go for wedges or something ;)

when you hear about the cabs...can you post their response on here please so i know aswell :) thank you.

Im preety sure most girls and guys will be in flip flops, not the greatest foot wear to be wearing owing to the circumstances so its whatever you are comfortable in, i might get me some wedges actually :)

Were going to 'we love' on the sunday @ space, were there in july 8) canny wait :D

Not heard anything back from him yet.. but will when i do.

Yup think im going for the wedges, got a pair that are as comfy as trainers and can dance all night in them.. :) thanks for the advice girlies!
You need ID to get in with your ticket right? I will need to bring my passport with me.. is that a bad idea?

With any tickets purchased from the internet you will need to take i.d. It should say on your ticket what you will need to take with you.

I wore flip flops the first time i went to Space back in 2004 and someone trad on my foot and they must have had glass on their foot, cut my big toe right open :( I've never wore flip flops in a club since....
