Drama in Downtown
In an unprecedented move, the City of Miami Police Department ordered the patio section of the pioneering Miami nightclub, Space, shut down temporarily on Sunday morning.
At approximately 3:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time on March 18th, the police department ordered the outdoor sound systems at Space, and neighbor club Nocturnal, shut down for noise complaints, despite the fact that Space has been operating in the neighborhood with an outdoor area for seven years, with no noise complaints.
Reports also indicate that two managers for the nearby Area 51/Allure/Adrenaline complex were arrested.
The situation came to a head approximately thirty minutes later when owner of Space, Louis Puig, as well as general manager Marcus Westreicher were subsequently detained and arrested by the City of Miami Police Department. An eyewitness, who wishes not to be named, reported that both Puig and Westreicher were repeatedly searched and harassed by the officers on scene.
Several hours later, both men were released on bail.
Westreicher resumed his duties at the venue, which since then had powered up it's external sound system with no further incident.
Attorneys for Space later determined after a public records search that no noise complaints were made.
City of Miami police officers on the scene would not comment about this incident at this time.
... but i´m afraid that this could happen to space ibiza too
