Space and Bora Bora

Woolford killed the terrace the first 2 weeks of WLS and that was a unanimous opinion amongst everyone who we were with - it looks like he's picked things up cos reviews of him seem to have got better as the summer has gone on.

He's a spotlight member like Nic Fanciulli

Mainly Ibiza veterans, non? So there is a possibility that many people who experienced the old terrace and its´ sound hark for those days to be recreated. Only a point for discussion. I could be wrong but his sound on the terrace this week didn´t seem any different from is sound inside the week before last and both times the crowd lapped it up. Everyone I was with (all younger than me and less time into their relationship with the island) loved it both times.

On another note, I got the impression Arman Van Helden (sp?) takes himself very, very seriously.

No it was a whole cross section of people from people who'd been there back in the day to new kids on the block  If it had just been me that had thought he was rubbish then I'd have accepted it was just not to my taste in music but it was the fact that it was everyone who said the same thing who have a whole variety of music tastes/fave club nights etc.

As I said earlier in the thread when I used to see him in his Back 2 Basic residency days I thought he was one of the best ressies in the country, it's only the 3x I've seen him @ Space that he's disappointed.

Really serious in what sense, my sis was there last Sunday and she said he was amazing and quite the party DJ........??

It´s an interesting discussion - I couldn´t find a person who didn´t love Woolford on Sun (not that that was my mission statement).

Van Helden - I was in the bit next to the booth and he just didn´t seem to talk to anyone or be involved at all. Perhaps it´s subconscious prejudice on my part - maybe I´ve attributed an attitude to him that doesn´t exist because he dresses like a b-boy. Musically, he was quite down tempo compared to Woolford but the right pre-cursor to Tenaglia

buckley, i don't care what armand was behaving like at space. after what happened there to him (in what is still the most embarrassing clubbing moment for me, in terms of how i ashamed i felt not something like getting grogged!) i think he can behave how he wants.

everytime i've seen him he's been class, a unique style, unpredictable, moody sometimes yeah but thats all part of who he is. can think of some right no marks far lower down the food chain than AVH that take themselves much more seriously than him.

Well I'm prepared to give him another go in September, maybe old Dazza has had words with him  I think him and Fancuilli have both had the big job of being new terrace residents and as the season goes on they'll find what their niche on the terrace is. At least they're not boshing out Superstylin' every week

I was dead jealous of my little sis - her first visit to Space and she had Armand and Danny T

Errr... what DID happen to him?

I think he's taking himself seriously in a funny way. He seems to me like a genuine diva who puts on his "too cool for school"-ish act b/c it amuses him :)

I've only ever seen him over here in Germany, but his sets were awesome and he manages to get reactions from the crowd not many others get, both positive and negative. I vaguely remember a funny interview in which he explained, why he thought the crowd at homelands should really listen to more Hip Hop, so he chose to play nothing else that day

Corrected for you Gregotello!

blamed some hip hop, nothing major, some cool tunes actually which i didn't think were out of keeping with the rest of his set.....

people started booing, it got gradually worse, it was like the panto when someone leaves the big brother house (if its the same in your country as in the UK).

armand left the decks looking bemused and shocked. i thought every one in there was nob for doing it. AVH played unannounced in the zenith (as was then) at pacha the day after and very nearly got carried back to the decks to carry on (sasha like) when he'd finished his set.8) 8) :D
