Paradors are absolute top-end and generally tasteful hotels which have been around for over 100 years. And yes, definitely not cheap! I was lucky to stay in one (La Seu d'Urgell) 3 years ago just after my redundancy and they had kept many of the original features, with a lounge downstairs in what looked like an inner courtyard. The USP is that the land is often historic with original stonework preserved. If you have the cash, a good option for a romantic number or somewhere business people or oldies might appreciate away from the noise.
