Something lovely ...

happened at the big Chill and I just wanted to share it with everyone because it was so nice and made me realise there are more nice people in the world than horrible ones 8)

At the Big Chill at the weekend people were lighting paper lanterns and letting them go in the sky. They were so pretty and went for miles. I wanted to light one for my sister who died just over a year ago and whose birthday it is on Sunday ago but couldn't see where to buy one. I'd almost given up when at 2a.m. on Monday morning I saw a girl in a crowd setting some off. I thought she was selling them and went over and asked if I could buy one. She said she wasn't but gave me one. I was so happy that I told her why. It made my weekend.

Ben checked out the Big Chill forums yesterday and there was a thread for magical moments and found this, it made me cry.

"I handed out all my fire lanterns to a group of strangers, with Viv and Buzz, at about 2am on sunday/monday (someone was selling them for £5 just up the hill!!) and we set them all off which was ace. I then had a girl come up to me (i'd given her a lantern) who told me her sister had recently passed away and she'd wanted to light a candle for her all weekend but had't quite managed it. The lantern had made up for it and it had made her weekend. I very nearly burst into tears! very touching and very special.... I guess thats kinda what its all about :)

It's nice how when someone makes your day by being kind to you quite often you make their day too by being so happy!

that lovely ! if only we could all pass on acts of kindness like this all the time.. the world would be a much happier place!:)

I'm off to Niagra-on-the-Lake and Toronto next week for two weeks!

Edmonton's okay, I suppose. Been there a few times. The Mall is great!! Not much in the way of clubbing night-life I guess though is there?

clubbing in edmonton? not not really.. not at all actually..we get a good selection of DJs, but they usually end up in some bar on a Tuesday... if there is an event, its usually a trance-rave night held at the Polish Community Hall, full of meth-ed out 14 year old ravers! the few' after hours clubs can't even sell alcohol..

That sort of festival is a rare breed.

Good point, couldnt see that happening at Creamfields for example, theyd most likely try to burn you with the candles there!!

Lovely story 8)

Beautiful story, Kang. There is, indeed, a bit of love and kindness left on this rock.
