*** Solomun + 1 on Sundays at Pacha ***

even though i do think the whole dyinamic crew is a strong group when they're all together, i'm sure solomun +1 at pacha will be just as good. first off, as craig correctly says, nothing comes close as to have just two DJs playing all night. first the guest, then solomun, and then back to back. this is something all real music lovers will appreciate. i personally can't stand the fact that even on the island DJ's nowadays only play for an hour or 1.5hrs sometimes. anything below 2 hours is not a musical journey and should be banned ;)

absolutely agreee with that! the only **** that can happen, is if the guest dj isn't that good or plays a boring set. but i trust in Solomun's taste.

i think he will be lost as a solo without his diynamic crew around him. David August will shine through this year...

No. Agree with nostrum above. It seems to have been forgotten that Solomun DID have a mini residency at Pacha last year with Defected (4 or 5 dates).

I LOVED his Pacha sets just as much (if not more) than Sankeys. He is like Luciano in that he can adapt his style just enough to suit the venue and the crowd hence why he played at almost every club in Ibiza in the end last year!

apart of that, when solomun played literally every closing party last year, the clubs also booked him and not dyinamic.

i'm actually quite sure this (dynamic at sankeys and the +1 concept at pacha) is the best way to present the same artist in two different ways. well done on both accounts.

1 dj playing all night, now thats the real test for any dj, only the best survive ! My favourite format, if its done by the right dj.

Agree 1.5 hr sets is pointless

yeah!! Missing those 7-8 hour sets from Roger Sanchez @ Pacha...

Those were the years! I miss them so much. Completely fell in love with Sanchez after a 7 or 8 hour set at Pacha in 2003. Proper tribaly banging house! Saw him last year & he was disappointing. All over the place, some awful r&b tracks too. ;-(

I know! Every time I have seen him in the past few years it just made me sad
He was amazing back in the day. Pacha 8 hour sets and all.

Agree! At least we have incredible memories! We need more of this stuff we're talking about - that kind of house used to make me glow & smile so much. We need less of the commercial shm/avicii/Guetta ****e. I love all the deep stuff but I don't find it uplifting & it's a little slow too.

Yeah, uplifting (real) House should definitely be present on the White Isle. I hope the likes of Giom, Hector Couto etc get gigs there in the coming years.

To be honest, Sanchez was never amazing, he was never like Garnier, Francois K,Tenagla who i would say were and still are amazing, but Sanchez played to his strengths, he woiuld play good house music, it wouldn't be educational but it would be good and fully enjoyable.

He's nights at turnmills were equally as enjoyable

When Sanchez toured with Daft Punk when Homework came out he was great..Got to see them at Red Box in Dublin and it was one of those special nights..

For me he was the reason to fall in love with house music with his breakthrough single in Europe "Another Chance". Till 2005 - 2006 he was still smashing those tribal house tunes! As house music shifted more towards Electro-House Sanchez as well moved more towards more electronic house sounds. But last year he played some gigs with only oldschool house tunes (also at one of his gigs at Space on Monday). In terms of skills and talent he is still one of the best DJs out there (with guys like Zabiela etc.). Always a great experience to see and hear him playing!

solomun + 1

How was the first ngt? Does it look lilke this will be a good option for sundays? Music wise we like house, deep house and electro not keen on techno.

Also, I know pacha is one of the more expensive clubs. Just wondered how much would a beer cost? Or vodka lemonade?

Cheers
