Sod the DJ Mag Top 100 whats the Spotlight Top 5 DJs this year?

In no particular order (best sets this year for me were by the following)

1.Angello & Ingrosso
2. Riton
3. Kissy Sell Out
4. Switch / Dave Taylor
5. Justice

I'm a bit blurry as to whether I've seen all these this year or some maybe last year but here are my fave's at the moment:

1. Spen - For the love of HOUSE!
2. Karizma
3. Frankie Feliciano - brilliant set at Southport & that was definately this year!
4. Danny Krivit - another brilliant Southport set!
5. Timmy Regisford.

Righto, the official list, non inclusive of myself...

1. Danny Tenaglia
God. Still does things with a cdj that I'm convinced I'll never be able to do. The onstage mincing is just an added bonus that completes the package. In fairness, I've seen him twice in the last 12 months, and has blown me away every time. And he dropped Losing My Religion at Exit festival!

2. Danny Howells
Couldn't have told you one thing about the guy, (other than assuming he was some boring yet slightly more accessible prog DJ) prior to his Emix earlier this year, then POW, it was like being opened up to a new level of music and mixing style! His remix of the Bent track is my favourite track of the last 12 months too, and possibly an example of a genuinely Perfect Vocal House Music Record.

3. Rahaan
Some of his downloaded sets have been genuinely my Greatest House Music Discovery of the 21st century. Wicked chicago-jacky-cosmicy-disco tracks

4. Ame
Yep, the guys who done that 'Rej' tune, though frankly that's my least favourite work of theirs. Love their dj and production style, and had a great night out to them earlier this year

5. Joint vote to Villalobos (love his live sets), Ashley Beedle (brilliant disco sets), Prins Thomas (amazing full spectrum disco stuff, mixed with modern records), David Morales (soundtrack to best musical night out recently!), Quentin Harris (production/remixer legend)... I couldn't leave any of these off the list, though in fairness, none of them has had such an impact in the last 12 months as the top 4.

Morillo's not on their as a protest vote, despite probably being no 1 for the last zillion years running, and he will not be unless he STARTS PLAYING DECENT RECORDS. I hope he's reading this.:x:lol:

For me:

1. Sven Vath - outshining every other dj technically and musically IMO. Can't believe noone else has mentioned him yet! 8O

2. Eric Prydz - With the exception of one dodgy set at Global, every other time I've heard him he's been fantastic

3. Danny Tenaglia - played an amazing set at WLS closing last year, definate impressed me

4. Swedish House Mafia - Played brilliant every time I've heard them.

5. Sasha - based on the last two times I've heard him
