The dark side.
To expand on scorchio's description but from the perspective of someone who prefers the insid, dated 25/07/2005
Wether approaching from Salinas or Eivissa, the 1st thing that will hit you will be the thundering bass and the rackety percussion, making all the windows on the vehicle vibrate Getting closer, you will see a gaggle o hard-core clubbers walking to and from the club, with a slightly dazed and confused look on their faces.
The ones with the most extrovert outits will make the biggest impression, but on closer inspection, it will be a mixture of locals, glammed-up kids who looked like they've just crawled out of pacha, the workers with the faux-blelearic outits and the tourists who are out just for a decent time.
Entry was a mere 20 euros, with a free drink, which is always nice. Now the terrace is nice, but I found it too hot,The focus seemed to be on the atmosphere, with a lot of people jostling and standing around. it was inside, the flipside that I found my true liking and abandoned nearly everyone to enjoy.
They've now put in lights and a screen to make it more user-freindly since, but at the time it really was just a big dirty drug pit. The whole place is practically in pitch darkness, punctuated by beacons o light from the entrance and terrace. This was complimented by the music, deep dark and driving pushing you deeper darker and further down. The dj booth is bearly visible at the ront, with maybe 1 or 2 shadowy figures passing to and fro.
Looking around, you would see a craziness in complete contrast to outside. Italians crawling up the walls, a few figures in the corner slumped over and practically passed out, glammed up catalan going at it hard that all you see would be a wave of people bobbing up and down. In the eyes of the people, you would catch haunted looks, lost as they were in tribal beats.
The mood is a lot rougher, or sure, but there is also a sense of purity in that the music was taking centre-stage rather then the ambience. The only time I stepped out o the room was being dragged out for the sit-down jump, and after sunset- when the mood outside changes and is special in it;'s own way.
I don't feel I am doing it justice, but the beauty of the place is these contrasting environments which compliment each other to make Circoloco. I can honestly say that that day was the best day so far of my life and something I will treasure to my death bed.
