"So..........All Aboard!"

I did a party in a boat, in the sea. THe boat picked up the crowd at 6am and was back to the port around 4pm. Was just very funny but not suitable for claustrophobic...

There's a classic story in there somewhere............

Buckley / Folks:

That is a good idea, and depending on the decorations and arrangements (along with the music) it can be a fun experience. We have a similar thing; a "cruise" that departs from Newport Beach a few miles into the Pacific. It is quite a lot of fun :D . It is at night time over here, which is fine, but I would prefer day time as it gets a bit nippy at night.

I think in your case, the weather might be the biggest "drawback". It is hard to predict (in a place like UK) that you will have clear, warm skies on a particular weekend a month or two in advance. Another thing you might have to consider is to have yourself well covered against liabilities, such as some moron getting drunk and falling into the cold river, and then suing you for having inadequate protection. Just a thought. :)

Cheers,

Soulds like fun. I would come down for that. We have summin the same (but much wetter and colder) along the River Forth in Edinburgh once a year called Mingin Ahoy. Always a good laugh and top day / night!

We'll be fine LBCA - I've done one before - weather can be a bit dull for summer but not dangerous. Insurance won't be a problem - we just hire a disco boat whicdh is covered for such affairs on the owner's insurance.

Erm....hypothetically speaking....of course........

I am sure y'all are going to be fine. By the way, I did not mean "dangerous weather". I meant crappy weather, i.e. rain, cloudy skies, cold weather, etc. Trying to forecast sunny skies around London a month or two in advance is like trying to forecast rain a month or two in advance in CA ;) . It's a shot in the dark. :D

Wickeeeeeeeeeeed......Im well up for that. We did one last year on the Thames with funkshoppe. ( The Retreat) and it was the dogs mate.

Garlands boat partie are cool. Last year it was "Fergie accross the Mersy" lol.

Its a bit or a risk though. If it rains it'll be sh1t.

OOh .. I can text you all from Ibiza if it's those dates !

When you back Saff? I might be promoting something else late June so perhaps that weekend could be too close...................anyone object to the 16/17th or the 22/23rd?

Aww Buckley, that's really sweet of you, but sadly we can't really afford lots of London trips. If we didn't have children we'd be RICH! As it is, the little devils keep growng and wanting more and more ..

I'm sure you know which you'd rather have Saff. No probs, we'll have to sort out a "So.......Northern", eh? As a backroom affair at Bed would have been perfect, but there must be other suitable venues.....................

Hmm .. looking at the state of Hannah's bedroom this morning, I'm not sure now!

I wouldn't be without them for the world -

The year before it was 'fairies across the mersey'

I did a boat party on the Thames last year for Pukka Up, it was a top, top day/night out! (I'm doing another one next month too)

Boat parties are VERY cool.

Just set a date, just because some ppl are at festivals etc doesnt mean everyone else is.

If, hypothetically speaking of course, I was putting this plan into action, I'd have to wait for the boat company to come back and confirm availability, wouldn't I?

Even big clubs are always quieter on wkends when there is something like a festival etc going on, so I think you'd find numbers would be definitely be down on something that's on a smaller scale than this, just thinking of Buckley

Yep, we'll be avoiding the festie dates for that very reason......

Barbie's got a point. Our night was down on normal numbers when we promoted at Turnmills last August, as it clashed with Creamfields, people on holiday etc etc.
