Fantastic :) I can't wait! When everyone starts to complain about the cold, I start to dream about fresh snow :) :)

i am skiing for twenty years now and i already had my season opening last weekend!!! mark, you're right, throughout this week we got more snow and so, many resorts are opening right now! let the good times roll!
by the way: might also be in laax at that time! 8)

i am going to Lake Tahoe for my first taste of US skiing in March, have snowboarded before but didnt have the patience to learn. I dont go skiing often but when I doI dont want to be learning. Anyone on here wakeboard?

Courchevel is for the nouveaux riches; more for show off than skiing.
Snowing right now in Lausanne; looks good for the week end

Yeah, I started skiing w/ my parents when I was 4. I enjoyed skiing until I picked up a snowboard when I was 16. Been riding ever since. Being from Colorado, its in my backyard.

fergie, heres a tip. get up to aviemore in march. theres a TINY club called the vault (and a cool pub Mambo or something), we caught the vault on a great night. good music (verging on the cheesier side but still enjoyable) and full of hot foreign birds (mostly americans) :D

Glenshee doesn't quite have the same appeal, but the skiing there is twice as good as at Cairngorm. When was the last time the runs were open this early in the season?? Im hoping they get a good turnout this winter at Glenshee, swell their coffers and maybe keep them open a few more years (its also scandalous Lottery money hasn't been directed at it when its getting blown on stupid Millenium art shite throughout the country  )

I live fairly close to the rocky mountains, so will try and get one snowboarding trip in this year.. We have a few "hills" near Edmonon, but they aren't really worth it.

Haven't been for 2 years now, so I'm sure I will break my neck

I love shredding. I have been skiing for awhile now but used to snowboard. check out some of the resorts around my house

Since its snowing here for a good 8 months of the year, I get a fair amount of days at the hills. This is also the reason why I am on an Ibiza forum wishing I was on a beach in warm weather with gorgeous european women.

A group of my friends went to Whistler a few years back. I heard it rocks...

I am in Whistler right now, working here for the mountain and staying here for the whole season. Small consolation for not being able to do the same in ibiza w/mates (circumstances beyond my control, i.e family)

Working for the mountain. Pay is lousy. If the crowd in ibiza is predominantly european, here it's commonwealth. Very rich and extravagant in the way ibiza can be at times. Getting a free season pass and 50%discounts on restaurants, 20% in shops owned by intra and 10% local discount helps though.

Housing reminds me of halls. Still waiting for a big dump before i go shredding proper. BC bud is keeping me content at the mo.

Clubbing scene is ...well .not great. They all shut at 2 and cater to more commercial tastes. Saying that tommys has tried to push things forward. Sneak, Benassi and Sanchez have played here in last month or so. And the crowd there always seem really really up for it. But Vancouver is always a bus ride away if i need my fix.

I was right beside Courchevel last year in Meribel, lovely place :P

Been going to Meribel for the last 4 years. The cactus is run by a nice fella called Stuart who comes from the same town as me ;) 8)

Theres a lovely little village that sits in between Courchevel and Meribel that is really good value (compared to them) called La Tania. Its still part of the 3 valleys so getting to Courchevel and meribel is dead easy.

I've actually heard of that club in Aviemore before, some mates went and stayed there a few years ago for a short break. I havent been over to Aviemore in years, may have to go for a weekend this winter though :P

Usually go to ski at Glenshee a couple of times a year. You ever been to The Lecht? If you havent, I wouldnt bother...not much fun  Bring on some more snow :P

i'll give you a shout if we're doing aviemore again. was seriously surprised by how good a night i had.

Nice one, sounds like a good night out, and something different for a change :P

Still absolutely dying and nearly unable to move from the past weekend
