Snorkeling??

I rented a license-free boat (rib) with Portinatx Charter yesterday. They told me I could go as far as I wanted (except for being able to get back to Portinatx in time).

It was so much better than my first sea boating experience (in Mallorca), where I managed to kill off the engine right at the exit of the Palma harbor and couldn't restart it because I had forgotten to set the transmission back to neutral (had to phone the owner for help). All this with a car ferry about to leave the harbor looming behind me 🙄

I talked with the owner about the license requirement for the next year. He told me it was not a sure thing yet (apparently, there are appeals/resistance, as it would kill a whole branch of the tourism industry). We'll only know for sure at the end of the year.

Nevertheless, I think it's time for me to finally get the license (mainly for jet ski rentals). I rode jet skis in closed circuits a few times (in PdB and in the Canaries), loved it every time.

It will also be possible in 2026. Reportedly, the final decision will be made at the end of 2026, but for the summer it´s ok 👍
