Back home. Not happy about it.

Would someone please buy me a villa on the island and give me a meaningful job?

I'll write a review sometime this week. Might even get around to posting some pics or something.

I was mulling over my post-Ibiza depression this morning and realized that it's only half because of having to leave the island and half what I've come back to.
- Getting on a Tupelov154 jet in Barcelona, with it's cramped seats and lack of air conditioning until after take-off
- Spending 45 minutes waiting in passport control.
- Sitting in stifling traffic on the way home from the airport on Sunday evening as half the city returns from their countryside dachas.
- Learning that today is the day they cut off my hot water for 2-3 weeks (Moscow's steam-radiator heating system and hot water are centralized... each summer, there's a rolling hot water outage as they conduct maintenance on the pipes). Sponge baths are fun!

How's everyone else coping?

I feel great today, apart from my Grandad obviously.

- Tom cooked us 2 proper meals yesterday so my body is back to normal and full of food.
- We both slept like babies last night, no sleep paralysis, bad dreams, sweats or hallucinations - all the pre-Ibiza season paid off
- When I got home from hols I had a letter from my solicitor about my compensation claim from my car accident and the other party have offered me settlement out of court which is lots of £££ :D
- It's 10 weeks til we go back to Ibiza.
- We've got a fab summer lined up - our 6 year anniversary, mini-festivals, lots of clubbing.
- Looks like I've got a job at this great agency lined up for next week.

Life is good :D

I got a dirty amount of money from a motorbike accident years ago, I got the money 2 years after the accident, so it felt like a lotery price ;)

Just checked the calendar:
In six weeks we start our proper holidays: ten days in a lovely villa in the Costa Brava, then ten more days to do whatever we feel like and go wherever we want :D
And before that our fifth anniversary, but probably Pep will be in Berlin for work :?

And in three months Formentera :D

Mine was nearly 2 years ago so I'd half forgotten about it. Don't know what I'm going to do with most of it but am definitely taking Tom on a Harvey Nicks/Selfridges spree on Friday, I think he deserves it :D

Yes, but you get to watch slavic rears in summer clothes for the next 2 months ;)

Mine arrived before Christmas, on my first Christmas living alone so I was skinned. First thing I did was go to Fnac and bought an Ipod to Pep, it was the very first one so it was very expensive at the moment, but seeing his surprised face was worth a milion

Post-Ibiza blues is just the worst, isn't it?

I think it's even worse when you live in a slavic/scandinavian country where people are very far from the merry Mediterranians :?

I made some great beef with snow peas last night... being able to cook a proper meal was the upside of being home.

I probably won't make it back to the island in September, though I am seriously considering trying to put a short trip together.

There's lots going on here this summer too. Looking forward to the Garbage & Foo Fighters concert on Wednesday and the FortDance megaparty on an island fort near St. Petersburg this July... I'm sure there'll be plenty of other good parties as well.

Today I've got to decide about a job offer that would double my salary and my annual bonus, plus pay for housing, insurance, health club, etc... the downside? It's in Ukraine :?

I guess I just wish all these things could be done in Ibiza, not here or elsewhere

Sept 23-28 is when all the cool kids are on the island ;) Come out dude!!!

Morbyd thats a fantastic offer, what is the downsid eof the ukraine ? is it simply that Moscow is such a wonderful place?

What industry do you work in?

I'm in public relations.

It wouldn't be so bad if it were in Kiev, but it's in a smaller city. Big company though.

Moscow is a great party town with tons going on and lots to do, but I kind of wanted my next move to be somewhere back in the West, to be honest.

i exactly know the way you feel morbyd, had the same blues twice last year (after returning...)

i don't want to know in what mood i'll be when i get home after THREE weeks in ibiza...but right now i'm very much looking forward to those 3 weeks which will begin this coming sunday! :D

Three weeks? Sounds heavenly. We were there for 11 days (and the exact same dates as last year)... wish I could have stayed the whole summer!

:( I was hoping youd be feeling more depressed than that.. look at how Morbyd is feeling, thats how youre supposed to feel!!!

You're just evil Ferd   ;)

Nah I feel grrrrreeeeat (it's all about the pre-season training  ) and ready and raring to go for Carter and Cassius on Saturday :D

I feel like I'm in shock. I expect it will take some time to recover physically and I can't even think about recovering mentally. Everything feels wrong. A week isn't long enough. It will probably only be a week again next year as my girlfriend is graduating and we are going to the World Cup, but we are talking about starting to save now so we can go for the full season in 2007. Sounds like an excellent idea to me!

Yep its not much fun on a post Ibiza monday. Flying home on saturday night was pretty depressing as I left lovely blue sky and the Sa Caleta beach to fly into manky grey Gatwick. Bah! And whats more after a quick ring around none of my old nana mates were up for a night out.
But it was a wicked week, my two best days/nights were the We Love opening and Defected at Pacha.
Even managed a holiday romance! Best part is she lives in Ibiza town so I will be popping back for a weekend in July and again in September.
Oh and Morbyd it could be worse... you could work for the NHS like me. :?

Pre-season training is immaterial. I've been partying myself silly every weekend for years and I still get depressed when I come home

One thing that helps me is to focus on an upcoming event you know you'll have a blast at. Like a September trip to Ibiza. ;) Book'it!
