Smoking Ban: Can You Smoke in Ibiza's Clubs?

i really doubt anyone has ever said they are not going to the club that night because they can't smoke.

i only remember seeing 1 person smoke inside in 1 week of clubbing earlier this month.

and the smoke at Pacha was way improved for me... in 2010 my eyes were hurting from so much smoke... it was fine this time :)
 
To be honest I knew nothing about this ban and last year myself and all of the smokers in our group openly smoked in several of the big clubs and saw plenty of others doing the same - hence we never knew about the ban. It was never said to us either by any staff, security or punters so it seems to be a pretty relaxed law.

Anybody have any idea what the tolerance is like this year?
 
i got told to put out my cigarette in the discoteca at the opening party this year although it was probably because it was 10am and there was only around 10 people left on the floor so i could hardly hide it anywhere.... :lol:
 
This year there were loads smoking in Space in June and in August and security were standing next to some smokers in the terrazza so they clearly don't give a toss :p
I smoke when dncing and I love it, wont apologise to non smokers who never complained about clubs until the whole no-smoking bans started to creep in around Europe :roll:
People who have gone clubbing for YEARS without moaning suddenly decide they can't be near smokers in one because it is the law :roll:
Blurgh, no one has ever told me not to smoke in a club in Ibiza and there are plenty of bars who still let you smoke in their establishments to not all is lost with the world just yet 8)
 
im fine with people smoking in clubs , its just when i get holes burnt into my Phat pants that its abit annoying , really puts a dent in your shuffling for the night :(
 
here in California, its been against the law since 1988 to smoke indoors and 1994 to smoke in a bar/club/etc. People still try and sneak one i here and there but for the most part people are respectful of the rules.

as i noted above, the air at Pacha was notably improved this year versus 2 years ago when my eyes were hurting/watering from so much smoke the Vagabundos night so i'm thankful for the new rules. And yes i've complained about it for many many years. I hate going to Las Vegas as after a night out your clothes reek of smoke :(

Also, if the authorities don't start fining the clubs then people will catch on that its okay to still smoke inside and it will slowly get worse... so really it up to the people who are supposed to enforce such rules to do so. Places have gotten fined out here for letting people smoke, so seccurity generally will ask you to put out your cigarette... hence enforcement is what need to put teeth in the rule.
 
Currently staring dejectedly at a heart-shaped blister on my hand where a smoker stabbed me with his firey wand of death at ENTER. closing...

I absolutely love that it's technically not OK to smoke in clubs cause now I don't come home with my hair and clothes reeking of it... but I'm not bothered that people still do here and there so long as they don't attack me.

People were openly smoking in Amnesia VIP last night. It was so rammed you couldn't get downstairs though but the staff were completely ignoring it

I had a few discreet smokes in amnesia last week, back to the wall on the sideline away from the security purely because it just takes too long to get through the crowd and outside.
