Sleep Paralysis

There was an interview in the Metro this morning with some UFO 'expert' and he was saying that sleep paralysis actually means that you're being abducted by aliens  But you should feel 'special' that the aliens have chosen you

There was me thinking that when I get sleep paralysis after Ibiza it's a sign of too much caning it but really I'm just being abducted by alients

... do you remember being probed at all????? :? :? :?

Possibly you are one of the 4400???? Any special powers (other than being able to go 3 days with no sleep and an unnatural ability to dabble far and beyond the limit most humans can manage)

.... oooh hark at me...the good girl!!

OK. Maybe I'm just lucky but I'm not familiar with this sleep paralysis thing. What is it exactly?

It's where you body has gone to sleep but your mind is still asleep and your head starts tripping out, it's quite enjoyable really :D

Aka Night terrors

Wake up or just about to drop off and suddenly can't move, feel like somethings holding you down, try and shout and nothing comes out!

It's really fun! :P

Never had it. Must be one of the lucky ones

I've had the thing where your mind is racing but not with accompanying paralysis. Guess the aliens just don't like me.

Nope - first happened to me at Ma and Pa Buckley's the very night after my first 'supplemented' night out. I was 15 and I thought I was being killed by something!

I was shit scared the first couple of times too but like Sar also quite enjoy them now  Think i've scared a few girls off though what with manic twitching and making funny noises in my sleep while in sleep paralysis  :?

Monday nights are the best i think when it's in full effect  When i see the big bad grim reaper type figure in my room i'm like "Yeah yeah i'm not scared of you mother f**ker, i'll chuck you out the frickin window" and he seems to go away

I've had sleep paralysis a good few times usually on a Monday night after a weekend of caning it.

Sometimes it feels like a bad presence is in the room just sizing me up before he eats my liver (there's always an empty bottle of chianti on the floor when I wake up - what's that all about?). It's a seriously weird feeling.

Other times I'm paralysed but it feels like I'm hovering in the air above myself 8O

Any explanations about?

I used to get it all the time, even when I was younger. However, it does happen a lot more when I'm caning it. At the time I hate it, but once you actually do pull yourself out of it, it's such a good feeling of relief!

Surely everyone gets it to an extent when they are having a dream and it seems like you are running in mud, or you are in a fight and your punches seem really weak. (No change there then!)

Still not woken up with a sore bum from it though!

ive had it before and it can be kinda scary. its all down to a hormone that paralyses you while you sleep in order to stop you acting out the movements in your dreams. but sometimes your mind can be awake while your body is still asleep causing sleep paralysis...........

.......i guess putting it all down to aliens is a more interesting theory!
