there must be a scientific explanation?? ;)

I read that when you go into deep sleep that your body becomes paralysed to prevent you from injuring yourself. In sleep paralysis the body remains asleep but the brain is awake, hence the paralysis.

that makes sense.

there's obviously a "reverse" condition in existence hence Jade Goody?

 Wish she wouldn't wear a bikini & cover up on her jollies, images haunt my sleeping & waking hours

Ooo just noticed this.

Ive had sleep paralysis too, and i can confirm its defo to do with the sleep deprivation / which is caused by too many drugs and late nights but not by the drugs themselves, as I once got it really badly the first time when i was 18 in mallorca when i was still a boozy monster.

The electric shocks however are caused by seretonin receptors or something. People who go cold turkey of anti-depressents get head shocks and electrical surges - just like the pill-head peeps who get em. They can take up to 1 year to go :O  sleep paralysis goes after you get enough nights kip altho i got it so bad after ibiza last year i just couldnt get to sleep as my body kept waking me up almost like i was gonna die if i fell asleep!! i was getting exhausted and they just got worse!

wow!

Cheers,
Bod.

I've done holidays solely on booze before and never experienced sleep paralysis. Only time I get it is after popping pills.
