size 00 programme last night....

so.....you really can go from a 12 to a 00 in five weeks (actually a 12 to a 4 uk)!!! im off to ibiza in 5 weeks funnily enough:D there is hope for me yet!

not sure i want to live on homemade lemonade and have 3 colonics a week with two hours of excercise though, but then if its only 5 weeks...hmmmm

looking emaciated is not an attractive look
 
I missed this but it looked quite similar to the one Louise Redknapp did a few months back.
Saying that I have it taped as I taped Wife Swap before so I may watch it if I am at a loose end :)

I saw size 4 in George - ridiculous!!!

yes it is 8O

james mum is a size 4, she has an eating disorder which is very sad - and weighs 5.5-6 stone at the most. she has been like this all here life, and says that she is scared of getting fat. she is only 5ft 1 but this is so seriously underweight. she buys her clothes in bhs kids dept age 9-10!

i have never seen her eat a meal, if we go out she has a starter (say parma ham) and leaves most of it - it is only the red wine and bitter which keeps her functioning

as propsective daughter in law i feel i should help, but dont know where to start.... and dont want to intrude into her personal life too.

she was probably watching last night and not even connecting the progamme with herself.

Really? A size 4 in George? And I thought they were supposed to be promoting the "real" lady figure by using Rooneys bird as their model? :roll:

I thought they would have been the last shop to sell that size...

yeah seeing as the average asda shopper lives on ready meals and chips!!! ;)

actually i do go there for food shopping if im skint... but you do see some families from hell in the Park Royal one....

Yeah I know I was tempted to try it on just to see how small it really was (I am no where near a size 4) I could not believe it. I have seen it in Topshop but then I wasnt really shocked at Topshop to be fair.

i might get my arm into a size 4 trouser leg if i am lucky :D

i will be happy to get into a size 10 this year, as i put on 2 stone when i hurt my back last year. have lost half of it, the rest has to go by ibiza!!
 
Maybe it has something to do with sizes being imported from the US / Canada?

A Canada / US size 2-4 is about a UK size 8. And really depends on the store..

Here, anyway, sizes have changed a lot and now bigger people are able to fit into smaller sizes. I know my mum, who grew up in England, said she was always a size 12... and she is the same size now at age 60 as she was when she was 25, and now she buys a UK size 8.

Fair enough, size 00 is pretty little.. but I have seen many clothes stores here with size xxx small or 00. In those particular stores size 00 now was probably a size 4 20 years ago.
 
I just found out one of my (very thin) colleagues is a size 0 and she looks fab. Not too skinny at all. I suppose it depends on if you're boney all the way through or just have a tiny waist....

I can understand this because I see fit women at the gym and they have teeny waists but they are more toned and supple as opposed to skin and bones. And thats what this programme was about like the way people starve themselves who arent naturally small to be something they see in mags or on telly because they think its more acceptable to be that way. When really its not.
