Should 1st-timer bother with Manumission?

Cocoon is my favorite party (German promoters). It's in Amnesia on Mondays (same as Manumission @ Privilege). The music is techno and electro-techno inside. Minimal house-minimal techno and electro/electro-pop on the terrace, depending on who's playing. The most authentic alternative vibe of the island condensed in a very big club.

And Amnesia is of course my favorite club. It's definitely a magical place, full of positive energy or something similar. But it also depends on the party.

But if you only have a Monday, it would be fine if you check out Manumission, and afterwards you cross the road (watch out doing this) and try Cocoon. Amnesia is just a few minutes walking from Privilege, on the other side of the road.

If you there for two weeks, do Cocoon one weke and Manumission the other. You won't be sorry!

Unfortunately only there 10 days.....Friday-Sunday! So, can only do 1 night clubbing on Monday! Also, looking at the party calendar I am having a hard time deciding which nights to choose.....there are so many good DJ's all at different places, all on the same nights.....Too many decisions to make!

Why do you have to choose? Go to both Cocoon and Manumission, they're very close to each other.

Most of the shows at Manumission start early, at about 5:30 a.m. there's nothing special about it anymore. So, you go to Manumission around 2 a.m., DON'T FORGET TO VISIT THE FAMOUS MANUMISSION TOILETS, watch the show, check the Coco Loco Room (the best imo) and then go to Cocoon around 5:30.

Leave Amnesia when Cocoon is finished and go straight to Manumission Carry On at Space. This way you won't get it wrong.

Last year was my first time and I wanted so much to go to Manumission... I went to the closing party, it was amazing as a first time trial. I never went to Cocoon, but I've heard from many different people, whose music-party-fun taste I trust, and they absolutely recommended me Cocoon, even if you're not a big techno fan. It's supposed to be one of the best parties in the island. So I won't miss it this year.

BTW, what are your dates on the island?

I will be in Ibiza from the 29th July-7th August! And I meant that I have a lot to choose from....not just Monday night, but the whole week we're there! I am determined to see Sander Kleinenberg at Pacha on Sunday. Monday at Manumission/Coccoon/Space sounds great, but I imagine it would be pretty expensive to do all 3 places....especially considering the money we are going to lose just converting our U.S. Dollars to the Euro! Then Tuesday, Paul Oakenfold and Armin van Buuren are together at Amnesia.....sounds like it would be a good show, but so does Cream on Thursday nights.....with Tiësto, Tall Paul, Dean, Eddie Halliwell, Jo Mills, JonCarter, and Montana. Timo Maas is opening at DC 10 on Wednesday night, but Subliminal at pacha also looks like a good line-up ( Chris Liebing, Fergie, Joe T Vannelli, Mauro Picotto, etc.) Thursday is one of the toughest days, as Amnesia, Space and Pacha all look like really amazing line-ups! It's just a really tough call for me!! I don't want to over-do it on the clubbing, however I don't want to miss a beat either! Oh, and I keep seeing Luca Fabiani's name on the boards.....anyone know what kind of music this is? Sorry for the long post......just wanted to illustrate my clubbing dilemma to everyone!

The toughest days, just bet better for parties with your favorite DJ's instead of being more influenced for the club. Otherwise you'll get nuts when deciding! ;)

And my recommendation: the less interesting nights for your liking (at least 2 or 3 'cos you will spend a lot of days there), go to rest early and do a tour around the island the next day. There are fantastic beaches and coves many people miss because they only think on partying. It's a pity but it's true.

I remember when I was an Ibiza virgin last year. I came to this forum everyday, couldn't decide where to go, which parties I should be in. I must have studied the party calendar over 20 times, I had all my parties planned, tips on where to go, which drinks to order, which bathrooms would let me have sex in which clubs, best sunsets, best bars, pre-clubs, beaches etc.

I knew the dates of the DJ's I knew everything I needed to know even before I set foot on the island. I arrived there on a Tuesday and went straight to Armada Closing Party FOR FREE (totally unexpected) and I went to In Bed with Space also FOR FREE.

On my second night, I was so out of schedule, that I ripped it and said to myself: "I won't plan Ibiza, I'll live Ibiza". Making plans in Ibiza is futile, you'll see. Get some tips, get to know some stuff before you go, but, please, allow yourself to live the experience and the magic of the island and its people. This way you'll make the best of it, even if you don't get to see all the parties and the DJ's.

This is what I did in 14 days:

Armada Closing, In Bed with Space, La troya, Yoshitoshi (Deep Dish) Closing, Dance 4 Trance Closing, WLS (Groove Armada), Gorgeous (Amnesia), Carl Cox Closing, Subliminal (Pacha), La troya (again), La Troya after party at Space, Defected (very good music) Closing, Manumission Closing, and People from Ibiza Closing.

That's why I'm coming back this year: I didn't go to Formentera, I didn't go to DC10, I didn't go to Es Vedra, I didn't have dinner at Elephant, I didn't drink Coco Loco, and I never got to fcuk anyone this time in the bathroom. And you know what? BEST HOLIDAYS EVER!

btw, I'll be there from July 16 th until 31 st, maybe we could do Matinee on the 30 th together... But, as I told, the plan is to have no plans.

LOL....you went to Ibiza just to *beep* someone in the bathroom? Nice one! Sorry it didn't work out for you! Thanks however for all the great advice! I will definitely not put myself on a 'schedule' so to speak....instead I will see the things I "MUST" see, and the things that are undecided now will stay that way until I get there and get a feel for the Island! These are the "musts" I have so far:

Space
Cafe del Mar
Bora Bora
Sander Kleinenberg at Pacha
Sunset on cliffs above Es Vedra (with friends and wine)
The Hippie Market
Formentera day trip
Parasailing in San An (is that a good spot?)
Manumission

And the rest I will have to check out when I get there.....unless anyone thinks that I am missing something really important on this list.....then I can add to it! I don't know why on Earth I only booked 9 nights in Ibiza....especially for my first time, and coming all the way from the Western United States! :x

Oh, and what is "The Elephant".....is that a restaraunt somewhere?

And we would love to meet some new people.....so If we don't meet up at matinee', we should meet up for drinks or some dancing at Bora Bora or something along those lines! Want to meet as many new people as we can while we're on the White Isle! We're there for a present to myself for graduating college....but also celebrating a wedding, and a 30th birthday.....which will be on our second night there (the 30th July)!

I'll celebrate my 30 th birthday there as well, only that birthday is in October, but, who cares?

I'm staying in a villa with some friends (10 of us, I'm the only Brazilian, the others are from Germany, Switzerland, Austria). BTW, last year when I got there, Bora Bora was shut, so I'm BB virgin...

You see, so many new experiences I have to live. Couldn't agree more with you on the matter of only booking 9 days. Try and see if you can get there earlier, it's well worth it.

My email is conrado.costa@gmail.com, keep in touch so we can meet when we're both there.

Will do.....have definitely decided to check Manumission out......I hope it is the freakshow that everyone says it is! See you all in Ibiza in 55 days!
