I thought it was quite funny... and I know the exact type of person he wants to get rid of from Ibiza! And I definately agree...

It's nothing to do with being straight or gay though, it's to do with being ignorant and poorly educated!
 
i think the article is quite good too, very well written.

i kinda agree with the sentiment altho its slightly hypocritical; i find it interesting that the places recommended are the more obvious/better known gay fiestas.

i mean la troya and matinee get hoards of straight people and as soon as salinas and chiringay are mentioned as places to go, you know they are so far behind the times they think graeme norton is funny.

all these places are fine to go to but not if you are preaching "gay only/exclusive/cutting edge/new/etc/etc".

I think it's sad that there is so much self imposed seperatism in Ibiza. Walk far enough down the street of virgins and you really feel as though you shouldn't be there. Some of the bars higher up in the old town have you feeling like every eye is one you and it's time to go back down the hill. Sometimes it just doesn't feel welcoming. I can't imagine there could be a single bar in Ibiza where a gay man would feel like that due to other people.

I'm sure most gay men would prefer a mix of gay, straight, male and female as it makes a night out and life more interesting. Ok, an all gay bar/club means gay men feel more relaxed to be gay but it must get a bit monotonous.

Do they, in the main, stick together because they feel ostrcised elsewhere or is it, as the article suggests, due to a revultion of 'straights'?

I do hope the article is just aimed at genuine trash (if so, there's not as much as there used to be) and not a portrayal of gay self importance or even, dare I say it elitism.

If it is aimed at trash, why is it written as a gay/straight divide?

I don't think an article like this should be congratulated, even if it is meant jokingly, as there's enough prejudism already and it will just encourage it.....on both sides.

Ibiza's not supposed to be about prejudism.
 
Is there acceptance though? Even people on here slag off the Muscle men at Bora Bora, Italian Chavs, Toni & Guy posse, people aty DC10, etc etc.

Where is the love people? :cry:

Well there ya go ... it was a nice adult debate conducted with intelligent points of views and in a manner the house of commons would have been proud of !!! My Fav was .. BIG PUFF ... but hey ... maybe its lost on a lot of peeps !!!

how can it only be gay, does he want the goverment to provide gay id tags or something. Or a genocide of straight people from Ibiza.

It must be a wind up in hope for debate, it is like asking for gay people to be banned from football matches:)
