Best Sarah and Sue email ever! 8O 8O

...

I suggest we have a minimum contribution amount for Birthdays in future (if can be afforded). The reason being, its not a nice feeling when some people have £50 -60 presents and others end up with a £10 gift voucher. I know we all have our friends etc but can we buy the personal presents outside of the main NB contribution. I noticed a lot of small contributions for Eugene compared to most other people, I understand if it cant be afforded, but if you can please do show some generosity. If we all contribute £1 he'll end up with ten quid for a present (How embarassing!). It's noticeably the same people every birthday who contribute the higher amounts and thats not fair. Then there are some people who do not contribute at all but have the nerve to sit in a present presentation and then on their birthday - RECEIVE A PRESENT.

I suggest - to promote equality we should donate a minimum of at least £3 (regardless of whether you dislike some one or not.)

Since my issues are with SS (Sarah and Sue - not SecretSundaze  ) and not with Eugene (although he is a bit of a geek)...I might give £2.99 to make a point.

...Then I could crumble some biscuits all over the collection envelope! :P

Ask if they can produce a league table of birthday donations for everyone...

(See how high they feature!! ;) )

Can you imagine the uproar from SS if when they collected the money it was £29.99 and not £30 8O

I, for one, agree with Sarah & Sue.

We have a general guideline of gifts around $100... there's about 10 people sitting in our part of the office so that works out pretty well, cost-wise....

But what if you don't like the person then I begrudge handing over my money to someone I don't like

Ya, but it's all in the interest of fairness and office harmony

Important things if you see the same people every day.

Poor Robder  The e-mail from Sarah and Sue obviously brought back the hurt and rejection he felt when he got his £10 gift voucher for his birthday
So true! A level of pain and feeling of rejection that only shopping therapy could truly cure.

Good thing he's got that voucher with which to go wild at the shops

You give presents for peoples birthdays at work?

Everywhere i've worked the tradition is for the person who's birthday it is to bring in cakes!

I hate everyone i work with so i don't even do it  Fooook giving money for presents  They're people you work with not your mates, why is there a need to give money for a birthday present for them :? Odd!
