15 minutes drive could hardly be described as isolated. I've spent 15 minutes travelling 150 metres in the manchester rush hour in the past. perhaps you were thinking of perth!
a car is a great idea though - you can get where you want when you want - plus if you get lost you'll find some great places you didn't even know were there!
... general idea i get about the best bars in ibiza (from this site) are that they have a dj, expensive drinks, are only open for 3 or 4 months a year, and have imported a gaggle of transvestites who show up at 4am to give us all something to talk about!
