*** Sankeys 2012 ***

I hope Sankey's does well this year. Really liked that club, all of the rooms have so much potential and the rooftop is awesome.

The reason I didn't go because I couldnt find the place! Ok, granted I was especially desperate to find it, and settled for an alternative option spur of the moment in the end.

But its by-and-large well documented that they are in far from a prime location. "Off-the-beaten-track" may be a bit of an overstatement, but the fact is I saw precisely 0% PR in PdB last summer which struck me as not only odd, but commercially suicidal.

Maybe I was walking around with my head in the sand... but I was fully aware of the countless bars on the strip, plus Space promoters etc.

I've heard good reviews, and also reviews that while they praised the quality of the nights and liked the venue, slammed how quiet the club was.

What was the point in investing all the money on refurbing a previously failed-location and then not putting your product out there?!

Come on Sankeys! Up your game! You can start off by getting Ferry to stick it out with you for another season.

I didn't go as I heard it was dead most nights and I didn't want to risk it on being the 7 nights. BUT they could at least try to get punters in, I didn't even hear any locals even mention it not once ( now that's pretty impossible with all the ticket sellers around!!

Maybe I might give it ago, can anyone give us a mini review I.E what was the crowd like etc brits or a mix of Europeans sound system etc.... Thanks
 
we went to sankeys twice last season and both times it was rocking... great crowd... great sound system.. music was spot on...

cant wait to go again this year... was one of the best nights (monza)... although the closing was great too... but i was a bit worse for ware by this time :lol:

I hope they DONT do mass marketing like the other clubs... keep the decent clientele and keep out the t**sers ;)

I went for closing and it was pretty rammed. It's a pretty deceiving size, you don't think it's that big, but it really is pretty big when you go to room to room plus the terrace. It has to be able to hold 1k people I would say. Security felt more relaxed. Crowd was mixed but def had a lot of brits....and that makes sense obviously. Thought the crowd was good though.

It was definitely rammed that night. One word - Lawler !!! We didn't stay that long - did Dubfire ever turn up in the end ? I seem to remember one of their guests was too twatted to turn up and play but they never named and shamed :lol:
 
Sankeys & full on ferry was my best night of the summer last year. A pint of kopperberg was nice in a club and fairly cheap too. It wasn't rammed which was a good thing as I had room to dance and enjoy myself instead of shoulder to shoulder bouncing at cream.

Hot house German label DIYNAMIC will be hosting EVERY TUESDAY at Sankeys Ibiza for 10 PARTIES starting July 10th and finishing September 11th.....featuring weekly resident SOLOMUN amongst other label buddies on rotation.......Stimming, H.O.S.H, David August, UNER, DJ Phono, Ost & Kjex, Liem, Adriatique ,Thyladomid | Hunter/Game + Kollektiv Turmstrasse. There will be more annoncements in due course.
 
opening 26th may
"We're returning to Ibiza this year to do four parties at Sankeys, the opening featuring Julio Bashmore, Joy Orbison, Huxley and myself. Its been a few years but we're well excited to be back!"
 
Closed for a lot of June and re-opening fully in July.
Propaganda the popular indie will be hosting Sunday nights.
 
I was going to go to pacha after the I.M.S finale on 25th may but the more i see of this the more i think i'll give this a spin instead.
