San An club for the more mature....

I'm sure this is the first time a question like this has been asked, so please bear with me. (What was it mother told me about sarcasm????)

I'm going to San An (bay) for a week with the Mrs at the weekend, and this is our first proper holiday without the kids for donkeys-years. We're both mid 40's, but still like a party and want to visit one of the San An clubs, but probably more as an onlooker than a full blown participant (that sounds soooo, seedy, it's not meant to be).

Which one do you think will be best, which night, and where's the place to get the best priced entrance tickets? Somehow I can't see the touts giving us free entry to pull in the crowds behind us!

We're probably looking for good value rather than any artist, as we're not mad into the club scene, although our kids do try and keep us up to date.

Cheers

Oh, I won't be wearing a vest, nothing wrong with a bit of British sweat on your shirt!!!

i googled ibiza clubber thats what come up.

i miss the old days, when you went to a club to drink and meet women, and dance only when you wanted to bag off at the end, none of this current dj worship, 80 quid to get out nonsense.

maybe thats why the older guys dont bother with the clubs, too much sense.

For a bit of sweet and sour (make you own mind up which is which lol) You could try Ibiza Rocks for the start of the evening, That also give`s free entry to Es Paridise after party,

Tim

i like sweet and sour, we always ended up in the local chippy about 3am after the clubs shut, most of the totty was there then too.;)

the grafton, the cokey, wynners and the continental, i pity the young ones who will never truly experience a super club.

Believe it or not....but you are going to get old too one day!

But back to the original question. When you see some of the PR's on the promenade handing out free entry bracelets to Es Paradis or Eden to passers by (they tend not to ask anybody over 25) go up to them and ask them for one.

They free entry's to the clubs tend to be the less popular nights, but you can still have a look at the club and some nights are really good.

It will save you the entry cost and taxi fares which you would have to payif you went to any of the other clubs in other parts of the island.

These two clubs are frequented by a slightly younger age group than say Pacha or Space but I'm older than you and Ive never had a problem.

I hope your joking Kevin?

The Grafton was the first club I every went too, the weekend after I left school. Even then it was called the "grab a granny Grafton"

The Continental was a nice club. Didn't that get swallowed up by Nation (Cream).

hi kingfisher, no i wasnt joking to be honest, the grafton well ok but a fun packed night out all the same and i think its nice that a young girl/lad could be introduced to late night liverpool and have the safety of the big brothers father uncle granddad?? at hand if it went tits up, i think the site of young girls being back scuttled up the back st's of the west end backs that up.

its horses for courses i guess,

the liverpool clubs where great in the mid 80's, cocount grove and uglys's where my favorites, at that time it was not uncommon for liverpools celebrities to go to normal places, and on the whole they got left alone, saddly thats all changed and imho helps reinforce the vip con.

its strange how things have changed, our destination nightclub was picked purely by its proximity to the last boozer we ended up in, we never selected a club on the merits of dj or music hours in advance they way the kids do now, the only club in which we knew the dj's name was the grafton to be honest, and that was only because of a short stint i did in the graftons resident band.

the ibiza proppas are giving the old types a wide berth at the mo, but i'm sure as the season comes to a close the older types will get approached more:D

so guys, young guys, enjoy yourself, its later than you think;)

cheers

why dont you take the bus over to Ibiza for the evening on Tuesday, have a walk around the old town and go to a few bars. then go to Flower Power at Pacha:

Legendary DJ Piti and thorough organizer of the Flower Power party, takes us into the heart of the sixties and the seventies. The best of Soul, Pop and Rock plus the amazing décor and club ambiance will make you dance all night long. Get dressed for the occasion!

Or even go to Pacha for a nice romantic dinner which gives free entry to the club after.

Agree with a previous comment that age is no barrier to any club - I have seen many people well in their 70's out and about.

Yep, when I was in SA in July this was the first time ever that I was not approached by any PR's. Initially I was please about this as they all irritate me but then realised they are obviously not apporaching me as they think I am too old :spank:. I am only 34 FFS:!: Had I been in PDB it would be a different story.

Back to the question tho, I would recommend not going to a club in San An and venturing to one of the other nights out of town.

all this ageism i think the young ones might be a bit scared that the grey haired groovers might out party them.

So they're trained not to approach anyone over 25? Strange - older people would be more likely to spend more money on drinks if you gave them a break on admission. They always passed me by without a look on the beach but funny how after dinner I would walk in front of Ushuaia for the free Avicci ice cream and they would be more than happy to give me free or reduced entry wristbands to a lot of nights I wanted to attend, and extras for people I was meeting later.
