SA TRINXA * No more DJs?!*

To paraphrase Ibsen: Only what is lost can be eternally owned. The memories of what was, but now is lost and can therefore no longer change, are yours forever.

I know, not much comfort.

Maybe there could have been a different choice, maybe this story could have turned out differently! Not just Sa Trinxa, but the whole island...!!! The government, the beaches, and the clubs have literally sold themselves out to market demand ; a market driven by confused kids led by social media... and that’s how, little by little, everything turned into a show, everything became fake and unreal, just like social media itself!!

In the past, when you arrived in Ibiza, there were no excuses… you were in the Balearics, and it was you, the tourist, who had to adapt to what the island had to offer (and it offered everything and all of it high-quality and exclusive)... in my opinion, nothing else was needed!

To be honest, I think all of this was pretty inevitable. Apart from the pandemic, everything else that has happened over the last 35 years, all the hyper capitalism, was fairly predictable as the word gradually spread and the internet amplified everything further. There are still pockets of charm in certain places and residents will confirm it's very different out of season, but if you want the free-spirited beach parties of old, go to Love International instead...

I’m going to do a “how was it post” on they thread for my whole trip, but short story: we took our two boys 18 & 16 to Ibiza and arrived Thursday the 19th June. Saw Jon’s post that Friday and Sunday would be the last time he played. Took the kids there, fantastic day, they loved it. It wasn’t as busy as I thought, or as busy as Sunday looked, but it was short notice tbh. Music was fantastic, great set of old balearic classics.
So glad they got to experience that.

It’s another part of the hedonism gone from the island, and another of the experiences you can’t get anywhere else that made it unique. TNL group have taken things to another level of capitalism I feel, and all I hope is people start to have enough of the money they have to shell out l, being crammed in like cattle? and the shitty way the door staff etc treat people at their clubs.
I think the only way Pacha/ Eden/ Es Paradis/ 528 can compete is on price, which they seem to be doing, but then you’re also going to need to rely on some DJ’s buying into it as well, so let’s see how many of them truly value the old school experience…. Well that’s a large part of my post I intended to write for the review thread ..oops

There today. Music still playing (no DJ obviously), beds full , restaurant full. Vibe chill. No one on the stretch of sand between sa trinxa and jockey club. Usually more rammed there by now. Still had a good time. The cava sangria and the restaurant always adds to that! No Sa Trinxa sign as you come in from the beach???
