SA TRINXA * No more DJs?!*

odd that there isn't anything to be found on all of this in any of the local media just yet - at least I haven't found anything?

also weird that jon sa trinxa makes this announcement and at the same time we have a forumer there right now affirming there is a DJ and music playing.

hmmmm

Struggling for a reason why, anyone got any guesses?

whilst not having any further background info, here are some possible reasons

- they did a volume control and they were over the officially allowed 65dB (the limit which has been in place for a few years now)
- maybe there is indeed a new regulation seeing ses salines beach is inside the parque natural

really not sure what it is at this point - I'm sure we'll find out soon

Tania Moon commented on his Insta saying "we have to fight it" so it's not just Jon saying it. Also saw someone else saying they were there on Sunday and the music getting turned down. I have to say when I was there last month, it didn't seem quite as loud as usual.

Any new welcome from those on the island and crossing everything it can get sorted out...

interesting, they're saying no more dj sessions but that there will STILL be music - wondering if they just mean low volume Spotify in the background or someone on a sax or bongos?

yeah not sure how this will play out, I mean if the volume is the deciding factor (IF), then what difference does it make how this music comes out of the speakers?

but - I guess - probably they repeatedly went way above the permitted noise level.

just guessing.

I was there yesterday with the family. The music was on, didn't peek inside to see if it was a DJ or playlist. Vibe was relaxed and people were enjoying themselves. 👍

I am pretty sure you can‘t legally ban having music in some bars and in others allow it, just because of vicinity to a beach. That would be discrimination. As Sa Trinxa is within a natural park that is different, government can ban it. They can also limit (and have) the volume, which can make it pointless paying a DJ for the bar, as music is just background atmo. So pretty sure DJ performances are not ‚banned‘, it was just the reaction of Sa Trinxa because of government coming down on them for noise pollution.
My heart is breaking…
