The local politicians are making no secret of the fact they want the Ibiza economy to be less and less reliant on the clubbing scene. The are continually making public statements about where they are wanting to go and the people they want to attract to the island. Closing one superclub and two other key parts of the establishment for a couple of months in summer is a step further than passing laws on roofs imho. If all the anti club scene / young people measures taken in 2007 were looked at collectively, that amounts to a big move against the whole scene and is not going to do much to make the island more popular amongst clubbers worldwide.
Hopefully I am reading between the lines and getting the wrong message, it certainly wouldn't be the first time!
