Starting this weekend will hopefully be a good one,so who does everyone think will win it?

It's hard to look beyond the All Blacks, they look very strong on paper,although the Springbok and France could run them close as could Ireland if we play to the best of our ability,Australia as well cant be discounted.

I'd be happy if we made it to the semi finals which i believe we will,this Irish Rubgy team is probably the best we've ever had,hopefully Eddie O' Sullivan will have the lads ready.;)
 
I think NZ will win it but I can also see Ireland doing very well.

Can't see England getting beyond the QF's although if we beat South Africa we will probably face Wales in the QF's which should be a winnable game given the poor run the welsh are having at the moment
 
This is about the only sport im actually not that interested in.

I'm sure i'll watch the final though.

I do like International Rugby,but overall i wouldn't call myself a diehard fan like i am with Football,some sports i cannot comprehend are Baseball, American Football, Cricket and weird sports like Curling8O
 
We'll do ****e but as long as we paste the ****ing yanks on Saturday I'll be very happy. A 40 yard dump tackle on their hardest bastard wouldn't go a miss either.

Actually I'm avoiding NZ media coverage by and large. They comment on the RWC as if it's a matter of national security. The rhetoric has neo con overtones and takes the fun out of it.

The tournament itself, I have waking dreams of. I hear the thunder of boot clad feet, feel the concussion from the collisions.

I like the look of the All Blacks, or the ABs as they are affectionately known in New Zealand's rather literal nicknaming culture.

They're a good blend of youth and violence. If they play to their potential they will score some beautiful tries, run over several oppostion players in an entertainingly vigorous manner, and win The Cup.

I'm going to Edinburgh game with some Kiwi mates on a stag do on Sunday September 23.

I stuck £20 on the Frenchies at 16-1 about a Month ago - now they're at 7-1

Might not win it but then remember how they did against NZ in a certain semi final at Twickenham a few years back ;)

Plus the home soil thing.....

(Yes I know some games are being played at Dublin, Cardiff & Murrayfield :roll: )
 
I think (hope) the Kiwi's may well choke.

To much pressure, it's of course the no 1 sport over there & they have not won since the 80's. They are all sick of it. This (and of course money) is why lots of the current team are heading over here at the end of the tournament to play. It's like the football team her in England, so much pressure it's unlikely we will win a thing irrespective of talent.

Of course if they do keep their heads on then it is there for them. You never get the freak results in rugby as you do in football. All Blacks can probably absorb a few injuries also. We for one, cannot. If Wilko is out then its game over in terms of success (judged on reaching the semis).

16-1 on France is superb odds and could come good.
 
Personally, looking forward to Wales v Australia on 15th...we ( Wales ) will get hammered big time I expect, but at least I'll be in Ibiza watching it.

I tip France to go far in this tournament, very clinical.

NO! Wales are for me too, & I think we are going to beat Australia, ignore the England result & we actually did not do too badly against France. Bit more crash and bang at the breakdown, hook at 10 & on form & it can be done!

I'm fully aware it's a forum and not everyone is going to agree that is not the issue here, the issue is that if someone holds no interest in something like you clearly do not with the Rugby World Cup well then why bother posting on the thread at all, i don't post on threads where i do not have any interest,just leave it to people who are interested that is my point, im not trying to be a smart cu*t.
