He was a breath of fresh air in many ways. Not bothered about PR, No nonsense. no fannying about. Get the job done type of fella.

Shame it was hand in hand with arrogance and he seemed keen to live up to his own reputation too easily.

United's full statement read: "Manchester United has today reached agreement with Roy Keane for Roy to leave the club with immediate effect.

"The agreement allows Roy to sign a long term deal with another club to enable him to secure his playing career beyond what would have been the end of his contract at United in the summer.

must admit i'm a bit gutted being a united fan but I think it will be a good thing in the long term, he'd had his time a couple of seasons (not for his footballing ability!) ago when he had a rant which wasn't that well publicised.

will be difficult to replace the fella but here's hoping :roll:

possible but they still won't win the champs league with or without him so in my eyes it would be a bad move for him to go there, my money is on him staying at Bayern come Jan.

As for Keano...according to Liam Miller this is what happened:

keano sat everyone down in the changing room and told them exactly what he said in interview then showed them the video and they all took the criticism

esp harsh on smith replacing him "people say u're gonna replace roy keane but u've no f***ing chance son so get that outta your head"

everything was then sweet then ferguson came in ranting at keano about draggign teh club thru the mud and who did he thingk he was- keane fights back with who teh f*** do u think u are u nearly f***ed this club 2 years ago over a stupid f***ing horse" as both were at each others throats Queiroz stepped in but keane said" who the f*** are u, u f***ed off to amrdid who realised u were f***ign shit and came back here with yoru tails between your legs- u can go and f*** as well and walked out. scholes silvestre and several top layers walked with him cause of their dislike of queiroz.

he then said he'd had enough and wanted to leave so they let him
