Went to the forum for the annual Incognito gig last night - amazing stuff!!! 8O

It was an absolute blessing to catch them all on stage again. There just aren't enough expressive words to describe the magic of last night - eeek. Auntie Weese and I were moved to pieces! 8O 8O 8O

As usual, they played with a full brass section and had about three guest vocalists...all on top big mama form!
The crowd was also fantastic - a really nice age range since they're now in their 26th year.
I don't think I've ever experienced audience participation like it - they had the whole venue harmonising and all sorts...very clever stuff.

They played all the classics:

Nights over Egypt
Always there
Don't ya worry bout a thing
...and one of the guest vocalists was Carlotta from the Young Disciples (the 'Apparently nothin' woman) - a worthy replacement for last year's Jocelyn Brown.

OHMYGOD - Incognito = absolute musical geniuses, right up there with the James Browns of this world.
Roll on next year. Absolutely blinding! Blah blah blah...aaah shuddup.

PS - But they really are!!! :-////////////

PPS - Amen.

(Happy Friday)

Actually no - I was boring and ran home to bed to avoid the Friday hangover.

(I'll tape it for you next time though if you're that interested! )

Saw them at Southport a few years ago - I agree they are amazing.

Thank you!!! Finally, a sensible grown up who doesn't want to make references to my sex life!

You should go. They've been the best weekends of my life!!!

Oooh, shall I take that as a given then???

I'll start packing now! ;)

We went a couple of years ago and said we would def do it again, musicwise it's fab and it's an experience to slum it in a Butlins for the wkend but you don't really give a shit - as long as you've got poppers to keep yourself warm  My only criticism was that some of the crowd was a bit pikey but we can do pikey for a wkend

What's the date for May?? I'd prefer to do May than November, November was sooooo bloody cold and that's from a hardened northerner so you southern softies wouldn't stand a chance

I'm a bit frightened of venturing that far actually.

Not liking the pikey connotations at all...I'm not used to that sort of thing in clubs. :?

Still, if B___ O__ gives her B___s the official stamp of approval then I'm in!

No idea on dates - I only found out about it five mins ago!

(Can I bring my toy box?)

It's May 5/6/7

The chalets aren't the best but you only spend a minimal amount of time in there!
We usually go in Novemeber as it's my friends birthday but you're so right about it being cold!
It's the best music wise. Never been aware of a Pikey element!!! Although there are some serious looking casualties come Sunday morning!
I've yet to go to a club with a better crowd.

Do they have floral wallpaper and plastic sheets?

It all sounds like a very classy affair!

Scuzzy chalets + Louie Vega et al = :?

A very bizarre combination but it must work as they've been doing it for years haven't they?

You do know you need your passport if you're going that far north

The crowd was fine in general, lots of older clubbers who travel a long way etc, there just seemed a few pikey locals who had somehow got in

It's sooo much funning staying in the chalets tho, it will be like the B______ do Butlins

Toys are a given
