Not a hangout of mine so not too depressed about this, but a sad loss nonetheless.

More excited that Fabric now has an open Sunday night slot!!! BRILLIANT news eh? Do you realise how exciting this prospect is? :o 8O I fear my career may now be in jepoardy. :?

My main gripe with this is that Vauxhall is becoming more and more of a depressing clubbing graveyard ghetto type place.

Name one successful gay club outside of the Paul Heron mafia (Ficton = closed, DTPM = now closed, Trade = essentially closed)...it's ridiculous...but then I guess all the gayers want is sex so Vauxhall is 'convenient' if nothing else.

EEEEK about the new Sunday slot at Fabric though!!! Must start planning sick days! 8)

...

On another note - some of the comments on DTPM related forums make hilarious reading:

'we will be segregated to the grim and grotty environs of that
soulless concrete viaduct replete with myriad cookie cutter arches
known as Vauxhall (vomit). Perhaps the future really is Orange after
all...'

'fire can stay open with the g problems it has because of the crowd it
markets to, which is the low-end, scary, drug-****ed sketchy mess
crowd'

'orange was busy with who exactly? people that dont care if the clubs
filthy and playing styles of house music thats completley outdated in
a crime ridden ghetto? prostitutes, cottagers, cruisers, people that
spend all day down the gym and with rude attitudes.'

'I went to Matinne at Area in September, and it was like a zombie
film. Everyone was ****ed on G, and the bar area was like a casualty
ward, the number of people I saw throwing up and passing out was
unreal.'

'I went to fire a few weeks ago it was busy but it was still ****e.
There is a saying you cant polish a turd. the music is
inane, nauseating, robotic and souless. The less said about the crowd
the better'

'I fully agree with Mark, Fire is NOT an option. The music at Fire is
dreadful. They employ the cheapest of djs. Robotic Electro non sense.
The Argos of clubs'

'Fire is just a smelly Damp railway arch, and the smell of urine in
some of the toliets is horrendous. If as gay men we think that we only
deserve to damp smelly railway arch as opposed to a world class venue
like fabric/DTPM well then we havent come very far. Fire is more half
arsed than world class.

'Fire is a rotten venue, but it still draws the crowds. Full of people
who want to get as far off their nuts as possible, without dying. Add
to that the availability of the stuff, pop music that everybody knows.
Way to go kids, let's get down to Fire.'

i was a regular at DTPM for a while about 7/8 years ago. been as good as gone for years in my eyes.

quiz question pop pickers..........what does DTPM mean??

Anyone been to the island yet?

We went the other week for Danny Rampling - the venue reminds me a bit of a smaller Plan B - it's nice enough, not where you'd go for a complete destroying but decent if you don't want a full-on night.

It was better in the tunnel bit behind us. It was a lot darker and had a lot more scope for mischief ;)
