So ive heard!

All i know is that from November - March its their summer but it suffers from high rainfall (although they said that when i went to the carribean and it only rained once). Its pretty hot all year round, but more expensive at carnival time in February.

Carnivale is prob the best time for tourists to go, if you can stand huuuge crowds. if you're looking for an Ibiza-type vibe i would look into Punta del Este in Ur, but the timing of its high season may be off from your hol.

Check out ToursGoneWild.com. They have excellent packages for Carnival. My foriend went earlier this year and loved it. She was with a group and they were escorted by a local guide.

I've never been, but hopefully this will help you. :D

For me Rios was a bit of a let down, although the setting of the city is amazing, the beaches (copacobana and ipanema) were dissapointing, very posh/plastic, the city is not nice either, dullish grey, and to just find a place with a terrace to have drinks outside was almost impossible. The nightlife is ok tho, but there are much better places in Brasil. If you go to Brasil I would recommand Arraial d Ajuda, Morro de Sao Paulo, Florianapolis or Pipa Beach. Besides carnaval in Rio is a big media circus, whereas the carnaval of Salvador is the people s carnaval.

love brazil, same sentiments i get from ibiza. really beautiful place, but real too, too real at times.

there are better carnivals than in rio, proper ones that you can get involved in. corcovado is breathtaking.

as for the brazilian, i prefer hollywood myself.;)

I'd love to go to Brazil even more than Ibiza. Brazil embodies everything I love. Fighting (UFC fans know what I mean), hot women, a thriving Techno scene (so I'm lead to believe) and yeah. I'm going to definatly keep an eye on this thread

It doesnt get more greyer than living on the outskirts of East London.............. so anywhere with a beach is a bonus! ;)

I will check out toursgonewild.com and see what they have. Im thinking carnival time will be a bit to hectic but if my mates want to go around that time then i wouldnt say no.

No more Ibiza though if this holiday goes ahead.
