Anyone ever been? I usually come here to get all the upcoming info in regards to Ibiza but I figure you guys would know as well as anyone!

2 friends and I are flying to Reykjavik from the states for a 4 days in Iceland.. We're looking for some good places to go out and have fun.. Any suggestions on clubs and such? I can't seem to find a proper listing.

I've not been but I'm told it's absolutely ridiculously expensive, crazy money for almost anything.

I've been but it must be about 5 years ago now. I was on a work jolly so didn't pay for anything but do remember thinking things were pricy, a glass of wine was about £8 (and that wasn't in particularly fancy places).

We went in a really high restaurant (can't remember name  ) that was gorgeous and amazing view and some of the best fish I've ever eaten but again pricy, the cheapest bottle of wine on the menu was about £70 for bog standard house white. We went to the bar/club that is part-owned by Damon Albarn one night, people don't go out til really late tho, cos everywhere is so expensive they drink at home and then head out about 2/3am. Also the Blue Lagoon is a must-do.

It's an interesting place, when you land at the airport you're literally in the middle of nowhere and it feels like you're on the moon (not that I've ever been on the moon but that's how I imagine the moon to be  ) cos it's so remote. Don't know when you're planning on going, we were there in Fer/March for the Northern Lights which was amazing. Weather was really bright sunshine but bitterly cold with freak snowstorms and if you get caught in one of those you're 8O 8O 8O

It was a good experience but I'm glad I didn't pay and I probably wouldn't go back there in a hurry.

We went for four nights a couple of years ago and had a great time. There really is a feeling that you are in the middle of nowhere and it's very relaxing8) We took a tour out to the volcano, the waterfall that was practically frozen and the gisers. There's quite a bit to do and see and it is so very pretty. The Blug Lagoon is a must and go at night time if you can, there are fewer people around and it adds to the atmosphere (unless you are like me and can't swim you'll be utterly terrified)  The pond near where we stayed had frozen over and everyone was ice skating. We didn't manage to catch the Northern lights which was a shame :(

Restaurants and bars are without a doubt expensive. Drinks were about £6/7 for a bottle of beer in most places. In one bar the waitress queried whether Ben was actually going to pay for both of them 8O Apparently peeps out there don't buy rounds as it's too expensive. The bar at Hotel 101 is quite cool although two vodkas (two years ago) set us back £23. We went to a restaurant which is in the oldest house in Reykavik and a bottle of wine that would cost me £7 in the shop at the end our road was £50! The food at this place was expensive but very good - the fish was lovely. They also had reindeer pate on the menu as well as puffin.

Reykavik boasts as being a real party/club city. It's not. The bars open late and that's about it. There are only a couple of clubs and those played hip hop and R&B. We were hard pushed to find house music.

I would go back there - not just yet and maybe for not as long.

Have a great trip ;)

Yikes! I meant to copy the link to this post into the Iceland one for Jonbawls but completely cocked it up!
