100% agree with the review. This was my first night back in Pacha this season. While I have always gone to its less commercial night I.e. cadenza, tong, defected (last season), this night was absolutely off the wall. As I've always said, while people have their inverted snobbery to pacha, this venue totally works the harder the techno goes in my opinion.

Firstly the venue has improved a lot! The odd pillar removed from the main Dancefloor, the dj booth back to where it belongs (and Jonson and Gerber playing live in front of it was perfect as it was crowd level). The upstairs terrace has been totally changed. It's been levelled out and has the makings of a perfect chill out area like spaces. There are tables for ordinary punters..... Yes non VIPs can actually chat with friends on a table. And the bed made for a good time as morning came.

As for the music and night - wow! The theming of WOTG is somewhat freaky and more like being in an art house underground party in Shoreditch, but the attention to detail is amazing as described in the review.

The music - was insane. This was one of those night in ibiza where you know you will be talking about the gerber / Jonson live set in years to come. It was next level stuff!

While the venue wasn't packed out the atmosphere was magic. This in only June and you get the sense that Gerber has really started something with this night. In the way that Kehakuma built up slowly, I think by August / September this night will become the must do night for any tech head. While ENTER. is a huge mass affair- this is an intimate party that will develop its own unique place in Ibiza.

Top marks to gerber and pacha!

Yes. For me, Pacha is still my favourite club on the island. There is a sense of theatre that no other club comes close to eclipsing imho. Even from the moment you arrive at the gates and queue, there is always peripheral entertainment and productive on the front door. That is truly captivating and submissive - it's a 360 degree experience. Gerber's night excels at this.

Agree, agree, agree. Always loved Gerber's stuff, and it proves that Pacha is far more than just a club for commercial pop acts.

Definitely my money for the success story of the season. Genuinely couldn't be more pleased at how it has worked out. Big gamble for Pacha I feel. But it has paid off. Gerber will be to 2013, what Solomun was to 2012!

Top marks to gerber and pacha!

My sentiments exactly! Bravo! :D

What about the name of the night??

What is that supposes to be a reference to?
O. J simpson??

I am sorry...

^^ Without being too .. er .. "anal" about it (;)), he's basically somewhat emotional tech house and deep house. Progressive house these days refers to commercial cr*p across the pond and closer to home so is pretty misleading as a result. If in any doubt have a listen to his free album ....

He can be groovy when he wants to be and also create a very atmospheric mood- but also have up his own a*se head nodder / weird sh*t lapses (imho) especially when playing live. Perhaps a spectacle to accompany his sets would help convey an experience that I think sometimes his more experimental music isn't capable of doing on its own in a dancefloor environment. Anyhow, sounds like he's steering on the safer side of all that and that this night is off to good start - which is great news.

What Gerber is not is a techno DJ and I've never heard him play what I'd term 'proper' (i.e. pure) techno in any shape or form. A techno head after a techno night would be extremely disappointed going to a Gerber set expecting that ! It does, however, sound like he's doing for Pacha what Hawtin did for Space with Enter last year and that's giving the night rather than just the club a proper unique identity with a creative flair. Not letting the music be everything but rather the soundtrack to something memorable. It's a much needed shot in the arm for the clubs and a departure from the complacency of the pre-2012 period, which had become decent clubbing but in many cases nothing especially memorable in many cases !

Anyhow, hope this goes from strength to strength. It's always good to hear about new nights hitting the mark.

Very true, I was there last year.

While the club encapsules a mansion, theather style like party - the music policy was just average the night I was there.

Don't get me wrong, while I understand this is a new night. I don't get the theme. The name sounds a bit freaky as you said, but open to interpretation...michael jackson?
Oh man!- guy gerber is an ambitious artist . I will definetly check it out. !!

I'm half tempted to consider this night but not sure. I've heard a couple of Guy Gerber podcasts and have never listened to them again. I've seen Guy Gerber at space years ago and he was great and a lot bouncier than mixes I've heard - however, he was on before Chris Liebing and Umek so that could be why. I'd like to see Green Velvet again. It seems like a night which encapsulates all the theatrical business I remember Ibiza being the first time I went. But it's Pacha and the whole rubbing shoulders with cash bought VIP status... I'm not sure :/

I would've liked to try this out when Im over as I like Gerber and would be good to see a night like this do well at Pacha, but Tini and the gang at Sirocco then Fuse at Sankeys wins for me

Forgot about fuse opening party. What kind of music would be at that? I strolled past the tini thing last year high season and it looked pretty lack lustre :/

I am gonna come to this night...just to check it out.

Looks pretty interesting and cool.

^^^probably the night with least VIP attitude at pacha though.

Agree with this. I don't think there was any VIP attitude in there last week much at all. I would say its the night where the VIP section is most quiet. For those of you who still can't get over Pacha being full of VIPs you need to just give WOTG on Wednesday or Insane on Friday a chance. While Friday will always have a certain weekend crowd - the dancefloor was rocking until beyond 7AM.

This whole VIP debate is years old, and I am completely and utterly bored of it to be honest.

Take the Used & Abused party at Ushuaia last week. In that last week I probably saw more caned and complete states (minis the opening / closings) than I had seen in Ibiza at a party in a hell of a long time. The fact that it is happening in the middle of a 5 star hotel is the genius of it, and the only reason that it is acceptable. With 20€ entry before 4PM there are some utter messes by the time the sun goes down. If it was on a beach or in DC10 the authorities would have closed it by now.

For those who have not made it out there yet - while morning daytime parties ain't back - make no mistake afternoon ones are!

Nice video of Guy Gerber and Tini playing back to back at Sonar over the weekend while the sun comes up.....

Personally I (and probably a few others) are bored of being judged for having a dislike for VIP. It's a matter of opinion which I should be allowed. I wasn't starting a debate or judging others I was simply stating my preferences in order that people could give me the appropriate information. Why some people get all defensive with the VIP thing baffles me :/
