was there all night and liked it a lot.

the main room hasn't got a lot of décor, but the music was very good. loved guy gerber's live set which was pretty techy for his standards. he only got a bit mellower towards the end, he played his new and still unreleased track, which is an absolute bomb, can't wait to get this once it's out. very melodic affair. sven played a full-on techno set after him.

the terrace décor is quite funny, all those leaves hanging from the ceiling give an 80-ish jungle feeling as well as the dj booth décor of course. julien bracht's live performance was very interesting, always nice to see something new (drum kit set). and even though i'm generally not a fan of villalobos at all, i must admit he played a very decent set this time. not a lot of weird stuff, but proper forward-going music. it went on until 8.

the afters at la sal rossa was absolutely brilliant. sven played from about 4pm till midnight and delivered a proper musical lesson with a lot of classics, tunes that you haven't heard for a long while and stuff that you never heard before, but want to get your hands on ASAP. from about 9pm onwards it was really really busy, before it was perfect. closing out with the superpitcher remix of the MFA's "the difference it makes" I (and many other clubbers) happily left the first instalment of this year's cocoon series. great stuff.

Always wondered about these afters, do they literally start at 9am and go right through? or do you have to go home, crash for a bit and then come back in the afternoon?

I've been to many Cocoon parties at Amnesia but never made it to an afters? I usually end up going home with the intention of coming back later and then just crashing!

i can't tell you when they started exactly. i had a break between amnesia and the afters and got to the afters at around 2pm.

Did you like the new booth layout in main room? Looks good but I will miss that iconic flashing soundwave!

i much prefer the new feel of it - there's much more interaction between the crowd and the DJ now. the old booth was just too high IMO. but I agree the soundwave is missing, dunno why they haven't put it in anyway!

I like the new layout in the main room too and the terrace decos are fun, but the the thing that bugs me about the new main room set up is that there is a huge screen behind and above the dj now, and I just don't like being forced to stare at a screen in a club! It had pretty cool visuals on it during Sven's set but it's still just over-bearing to me, and at Amnesia opening they didn't do anything interesting with it at all - just had the name of the DJ up there...

Good, sounds positive, thanks lads. I always used to dance round the edges as I like a good view of the dj, but now I can get right amongst it without getting neck ache! That screen does look a bit overbearing! No cocoon for me this year though :(, just music on, cant come to ibiza without visiting my favourite club in the world ;o)

nice!!!!i hope they'll do after hours almost every week!it's just to much better!!!i've also heard the interview of sven at ims,and he said that they found a new incredible tropical after hour location on the island!sounds good!
