Repeat Visitors to Ibiza - what did you avoid the 2nd time around?

Just because you missed the 'proper' opening week one! :p

(Very cross that I missed DC-10 for a really mediocre Cocoon tho - it wasn't very good at all was it?)

no it was very average - was quite yawnsome.

Dave said that that circo loco was his most favorite clubbing experience ever and I'm inclined to agree - it was BRILLIANT.

the polack was being sarcastic wasn't he.

what people miss about san an is that you can't generalise about it, you can't say "it's not that bad" or whatever cos that is wrong. it's more a case of some areas being horrific and others being excellent.

there is a massive variety/diversity of bars, eateries, etc in san an, including the westie.

i like san an. i just spent some pleasant time on the decking of the nautical club overlooking the harbour whilst breakfasting. very nice

a good example of what i was saying.

Indeed.

And two Saturdays ago we spent the evening sat outside our friend Diego's Cafe Babel eating great tapas and watching/listening to two flamenco guitarists. 30 secs walk from the middle of the West End.

I'm sure some bits are lovely - isn't Pikes out that way too?

Also some of the houses in that area that catch the sunset are amazing.

I think people here are referring to the unremarkable centre where the Egg monument is, the west end street and sunset strip.

Some might like all that but it ain't for me. ;)

... Someone picked it up then. I love San An, the nice bits and I think West End does an amazing job of containing the scum and has it's own endearing qualities too, if minus scum. Alllllllsooooo, I'd prefer to walk around a load of pissed scum bag English idiots at least doing what they want than walk around other areas with ( if we are generalising here... ) a load of ponsey Italian bastards that wouldn't dream of meeting new people and having a chat etc. etc. and just look down on you.

I also picked up on your sarcasm old chap, although I think even with your latest post your guilty of a tiny bit of the same generalisations of San An your railing against.

Most of the drinkers in San An aren't scum - they're just very young.

I would definitely skip Pacha. I hated it and it was much too smokey

The Pacha in NYC is much better than the Pacha in Ibiza, imo. Very sad...

after my first visit i never went to cream or manumission again.or stayed at jet appts. or ate the yellow snow

The whole of San Antonio is full of 18 year olds puking, having sex and fighting isn't it.
NOT true at all!! Some of the islands finest restaurants are in San Antonio. You have the wonderful Kumharas in the bay for sunsets (knocks Cafe del Mar, Mambo's and the rest into a cocked hat), good communications, scuba diving and other watersports, craft fairs and things like that at the church. There are only 2 streets where you find a lot of drunken Brits at night.

Oh i didnt experience that.. is it easy to find?

it's in the upcoming area round san an church. there are some really nice quietish bars on both sides of it. it's where i tend to take my visitors on a night out after dining.........

I think El Devino is the only thing that's on my Not-To-Do list.

I suppose I had a good enough time there the few times I went in year one and two, though once you've spent one night amazed at the lovely scenery (though not really interested in the bland music, frustrated at the ridiculous crowds, and bemused with the bar queues etc), there's very little else a second visit can offer.

Shame, because the Mn2S line ups looked ace last year (and assume they'll be equally good this year).

Other than that, I really can;t immediately think of anything I wouldn't be quite happy to do again:D 8) (and again, and again...)

Didn't say most were, just that there is alot about. However, there are some horrible things you will see in the strip there that you won't many other places. i. e. - I went there for the football last year, we lose, we spit at everyone that looks vaguely tanned. Jumping into cars with familys and spitting in them - one of the worst things I have ever seen.

The only bit I didnt like in San Antonio was a kind of crossroads (only went there once so memory bit vague) but it was full of the reps trying to get you in the bars and all the english/irish pubs. I just didnt like the atmosphere there, but the others places we went were enjoyable in San An.
