recommandations??? gimme gimme...

For gods sake Stu - your supposed to be a DJ - you cannot seriously tell me that something like that ca*acky Steve Winwood stuff or the 'Let The Sunshine Through' is a quality record. Regardless of who is listening to it , taste or not.

And I'm not narrow minded - I like a lot of stuff from Jazz through to Techno - as long as its good.

Its like comparing Gareth Gates with U2.

And personally I dont want to go out and hear the same bad records and pay for the privilege.

All in my opinion of course . ;)

They could be considered quality records if that's the kind of stuff you're into.
You've said again in your post "as long as it's good". But on what basis is something "good"?

I just don't see the point of being part of a forum where many of your posts openly criticise (and it's not even constructive criticism) the music and/or club choice of the other members.

Yes like I am sure Nikki406 thought the blazing squad were good.

I am sorry Stu but I cant stand rock/indie music but I can certainly see the quality in stuff like Scissor Sisters. Regardless of taste you can always see quality.

If you classed the stuff you are talking about as cheesey easy listening house I would agree - but quality it certainly isnt , regardless of taste/stance.

Ibiza-girlie,

thank you so much for that perspective... I'm gonna go to all 3!!!!

Stuie, luv ya.

Stu, Defected is the sh*t for some and not others.... I love the stuff!

By the way (Everyone), you'd be supprised how many different styles of music are out there in which you can like all of them (except country... i hate that soooo much....damn yanks and there stupid American Crap...oooops).

Did any of you think about how house music would sound if there was like a gypsy kings loop, of even a rock remix similar to seven nation army?

Being close minded to anything doesnt give you the right to criticize it..... this is not directed at any one person here, i'm just tired of people "hating" on eachothers taste soooo much. Enjoy the god damn music or make something better!

Just my 2 cents (or for my brits, 2p)

or 35 Euros! (that was an American joke because the dollar exchange rate sucks)

hehehe, agree there is sometimes too much slaggering here. I try not to give peeps it back if it comes to me - well....not anymore that is.
but sometimes its hard to get the irony when you have so many nationalities and all different kinds or irony and jokes, so i always try my best to smile at it . its ONLY a forum, not "real" life...

glad the info was useful

a bit old but a goodie if u dont mind a jazzy tip:

Saint Germain - Des Pres Cafe vol.4

The middle of the cd is ace but the start is a bit too jazzy for me.

As for the argument, there's a lot of house that i despise for pure cheesyness/quality. There's also a fair deal of house which i still like even though i know its badly put together. When I'm at home listening to music i like to hear music with a bit of meaning to it. "calllll onn meee" is fine for when your mashed and dancing but I wouldnt even think about listening to it in my own time. I prefer soulful stuff as there's a lot more thought gone in to it. I like the intricate details too, not something you see a lot of in funky house.
