RE: Worlds Greatest Festivals?

PG- I have Carnivale on my list of things to do before I die....I totally spaced it....should have definitely been mentioned because I hear it's amazing! And of course, there is always Mardi Gras which I'm sure is a crazy time.

What's up Bri-

I leave for Ibiza in 6 days....with a stop in London on the way. Hope I make it out of London okay! I will have a full report for you when I return. Oh, and The Shamrock and Roll Festival sounds AWESOME! Might have to make it out next year....we are neighbors after all! :D

Dude, have an amazing time out there, wish I was going this summer so bad!!!

The Shamrock party was two days of Irish debauchery, talking kegs of green beer, loads of Guiness, Bailey's, and Jamison for Car Bombs. Some other stuff that I don't want to mention ;)

good times

Sounds like my kind of party! Don't have any Irish in me, but I know how to party like one!!!! 8) Getting excited for Ibiza.....was worried I wasn't going to make it....went skydiving for the first time in Vegas last weekend and was dreading that my chute wasn't going to open. Everything is all good though, Thank God! HAD A BLAST!!!

Anybody ever been to the Cannibis Cup or anything like that? I don't personally indulge in the stuff, and I don't know if it's even considered a festival, but I think it would be crazy/fun none-the-less.

Other things I definitely want to do at some point:

-Carnivale in Rio
-Mardi Gras
-Berlin Love Parade
-Full Moon Party in Thailand
-Trip to Goa, India

Just a few must do's!! I won't ever miss Burning Man, so as long as these don't fall in the same week, I must to add them to the list....PG let me know a good year for you and we will head off to Rio together! Anyone else who wants to go should plan on it! HAHA

Blecch, I don't want to go to Mardi Gras. I hear that Bourbon street REEKS of puke, and Mardi Gras is such mayhem that people practially get crushed. Plus being a girl, I don't wanna get my precious little gadoongas ripped off
(.)(.)

That is the only journey I won't join you on. Maybe ask Mr. Stoned more about it, he seems to love it. I am total game for the rest though!!!

ps. San Diego goes off pretty good during Mardi Gras, I must say ;)

If nothing else, Mardi Gras will give me good costume ideas.....And it may be a good opportunity to check out some "Gadoongas"...... ( @ )Y( @ )

Well, if you don't smoke it, then you might not have fun. Basically, the Cup is a competition among the big Cannabis breeders as to whom has the best MJ genetics. Considering there will be pounds and pounds of the world's best quality Cannabis around...it's definitely worth it for a smoker. If you buy a judge's pass, you get to test the different Cannabis strains out. 8)

http://www.cannabiscup.com (MJ images abound, so may not be work friendly ;))

I don't smoke, but all my friends do......I think it would be a great time anyway! And a good excuse to get to the Amsterdam. At least it's something pretty well known over here in the States. I am sure there are hundreds of other really cool events happening all over the World that are just not known because of the lack of press coverage! That's why I started this thread in the first place.....really want to know what's out there!

Cannabis cup is just in the coffee shops (the bars where they sell weed), it's not really visible on the streets of Amsterdam (except for more hazy red eyed tourists than normal I guess  )

A great time to visit Amsterdam is 30 April, Queen's day. Biggest celebration of the year, parties everywhere.

Is Love Parade still going? I know it was cancelled last year. The Street Parade in Zurich is supposed to be really friendly and good, same idea as Love Parade.

Wow, is there no more Berlin Love Parade?

no Loveparade in 2004 and 2005.

They are regrouping, but personally I don´t think that they get their stuff together for 2006 either.

Instead of LP last year was a 10.000ppl "demonstration" with some small trucks on Ku´damm (PvD spinning for example), this year was Planet Pro Berlin with 15.000 "attending" and 35.000 "watching" (funny, how police divides up those sums).
Was really cool, we had a small truck playing trance there (Aly & Fily, Marc van Linden, Menno de Jong, Kyau vs Albert were spinning)

back on topic:
Dance Valley - absolutely stunning. And only 2 weeks to go :)

Bit f***ing intense like

trading stuff and not being able to buy stuff when you want.

Plus its mega hot in the day, and freezing at night. Its bad enough at Glastonbury waking up in your tent gagging for air, imagine what it would be like in the desert.

Mardi Graaaaas, IMO, its a once a life time experiance! not more..! it gets realllly packed and crazy on Burbon street, but in the french quarter its all happening there! beeds all over the place, u know for what  andparty ppl are left N right, that goes on for about 2 weeks non stop!.. do what i used to do (aas a local) stay away from Burbon, but u still gota check it out, and hey, watch ur pockets lOl

events that i should experiance;
- Full Moon party in Thia
- trip to Goa, India
- New Years in Bali
- WMC in Miami!!
- ALL THE ID&T EVENTS  at least once in my life time..
- Godskithchen..

think iu should stop here...

I think it would be amazing to see.....but at the same time, drunken grope fests are not my idea of a good time! I try to stay clear of the "Rowdy Crowds" and everything related to them. I think Mardi Gras would be a little too hectic and fast paced for me. I defintely want to check out New Awlins' one of these days though....maybe just during a regular week! I hear it's a really cool city!
