do you know something we dont grego? I havent seen any plans for the free event, can only see details for the paid event.

I was wondering if it might be at ushuaia? (or however you spell it)

Radio 1 Free Party
Join us at 1530 (local time) for Rob Da Bank's Wig Party with SBTRKT, Professor Green, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Hip Hop Karaoke and DJ Alfredo.
The party continues with Annie Mac and Pete Tong from 2000 with Annie Mac and Pete Tong joined by Example, 2 Bears, Skream, Little Dragon, Calvin Harris, Erick Morillo & Shawnee Taylor, Nic Fanciulli, James Zabiela, Azari & III and Carl Cox (Pete Tong Vs Carl Cox DJ set)!
If you're an aspiring DJ and fancy the chance to join the line-up, make sure you enter our Ibiza Superstar DJ competition!
Wristbands for entrance to this free Radio 1 Party at the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel will be available in advance in Ibiza only from Wednesday 3rd August. The outlets for the free wristbands are listed below (local Ibiza times quoted), and they will be given away on a first come first served basis, with only one wristband per person. You must be 18 years old or over and may be asked for ID.
* San Antonio: Café Mambo from 1100 / Ibiza Rocks Bar from 1100
* Playa D'en Bossa: Sands Beach Restaurant - 1000 / Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel - residents only from 1000
* Ibiza Town: Base Bar from 2000
Transport: a free bus service will be operating between San Antonio and Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel in Playa d'en Bossa on Friday 5th August from 1300. Access to this service will be for those with wristbands only.
Doors for the Radio 1 free party will open at 1530 local time. Please watch this space for more information in the next couple of weeks.
 
I am absolutely gutted by this news!! Me and my gf have booked and paid for our flights especially to be there on the radio 1 weekend and our flights land early hours of Friday morning. Now Radio 1 announce entrance is by wristband only and these are available on wednesday morning. They will go like wildfire so for us arriving on friday morning will be left with no tickets, and feeling pretty ripped off!!!

We really dont think this is very thoughtful of radio 1, they are giving easy access of tickets for workers and leaving people who are paying to come especially without any way to get in

I'm in exactly the same boat mate and feel gutted like you! 10 of us fly out on thursday night and arrive early hours of firday morning, so by time we get chance to go and get tickets on friday morning I'm fairly certain they would have gone:(
We all booked our holiday around this radio 1 party and now we aren't going to be able to go. We've got tickets for the space party after but we all wanted to go to the daytime part!! :cry:
 
this is balls. We are flying out on thursday morning so i would say we have not got much chance of getting a ticket. this was the main reason we booked at this time of the year. why couldn't they do as other years and just que up on the day.
 
i think alot of people will be in the same boat, so if enough people complain radio 1 might be forced to make a slight change to take into account people arriving at the weekend?
 
if you're really keen, if you buy tickets for the special playa d'en bossa boat party pukka up are doing on the day, you get entrance to ushuaia and space.
