But is it true that the reason Ibiza & the clubs aren't targeted by terrorists is that most of the drugs are controlled by north african gangsters?? :?

i think it's because it's an island and the logistics make it more difficult.

Or is it because the terrorists already targetted Spain, effectively forced a change in government, the new government withdrew troops and support from Iraq/war against terror/US alliance so they haven't got any grief with Spain anymore?

only in the last year though??

many british, american, and european nationals have been partying there for years, the anti west feeling has been around for the last 2 decades!

Spme clubs are targeted by bombers, what about the nightclub in Bali that was blown up a couple of years ago, killing about 200 young people :(

I don't think Ibiza is exempt from any terrorism... it may just be that Ibiza is not looked on as a "worthwhile" target. Bombing mainland Spain would cause much more destruction and death, so thats probably why they go for there instead, unfortunately :(

I dunno...a couple/four people blowign themselves up at the same time in privilege and Amnesia on a monday night/tuesday morning would have about 15,000 possible victims around them!

Probably use the island as a refuge if the drug squad and their 1 boat are anything to go by

Bali is an island and it didnt stop them there.
apparently that was in retaliation to australias policy in east timor?? :? and not whats going on in Iraq/Middle East.

Erm....there are hundreds of places in the world that haven't been targeted by terrorists, and as far as I am aware non of the other Spanish islands have been targeted by Al Qaida either. Can't all be controlled by African drugs barons surely? 8O

And I'm not sure how an African drugs baron would either be able or be in a position to persuade a bunch of fundamentalist bombers to go go somewhere else.

lifes one big game of RISK aint it.

swap ya Ibiza for Sri Lanka.

The Spanish police seemed pretty sure that some of the madrid bombers had quite strong connections with drug dealing in Ibiza.

I thinks Stephen knows more about this

I do think it's because it's an island.

N8, we are probably not targeted by Al Quaeda but in the last years attempted againts turistic ressorts. Of course ETA case it's different cos they are not suicide bombers so they run away and being a small island it's quite difficult

I am with N8 from Numpty on this one. Strategically, AQ probably cannot commit a bigger blunder than carrying out an attack in Spain or on any one of her islands.
